Tasty and inexpensive. Unpleasant location in general but no one else seems to have complained about it. I thought the masala tea and the scrambled eggs were especially good.

Great food (real French toast!) with beautiful fresh ingredients. Drinks very amazing, good coffee but especially the special lassi! Delicious!
the proprietor is an artist with a great sense of imagination and color. reminds you to live a little and revive your forgotten creativity.
Solar Cafe is a stylish, somewhat self-conscious cafe off Bazaar Rd. Fifteen foot ceilings, overhead fans, and cooling shades on the walls gives the place a chilled-out vibe. You want this at the start of the dry season in Cochin.

The banana shakes are amazing, and so is the fruit platter. Coffee was also strong and well prepared.. just how I like it. A great stop after some exhausting sight seeing in the heat, and interesting place to look around in terms of design. A little on the pricey side but for lunch it's just right.
Nice artsy spot for a cheap lunch of organic vegetarian food.
Their menu is not very good, small selections of food and drinks.
As were in Kochi for a month we had hoped to find a cafe we could use as a regular, we found the solar cafe and so glad we did:-)
Looks very unassuming from the outside and very bright colouts on the inside:-)
Not the busiest of cafes which both suprised us and suited us.
Staff were great.

Away from the main drag of Princess Street and Burgher Street where most of the cafes seem to be - this is on the way to Matancherry, my favourite part of Kochi. Great juices and snacks, particularly fond of their French toast slathered in honey. And the nicest staff in Kochi :)
Left from exiting the ferry dock passage way and look for the cafe sign on the left side of the street. Everyone turns right after getting off the ferry from Wellington Island and misses this great little cafe serving real coffee along with the works of local artists. No pressure to look, no pressure to buy. Totally relaxed place. Enjoy...
