good food great cocktails $5.00 each fresh ingredients nice atmosphere friendly staff had a good time
Yesterday we visited the restaurant of Grand Hotel restaurant for dinner. After watching the review of one of the well known food show in India we decided to visit during our stay in Kochi. The service was pathetic. The gentleman who was taking order was quite rude. When we asked for some good dishes they are known for he was... More
While this is one of the best places to eat in Cochin, the service is not too great (keep in mind that the waiting can go up to almost an hour here) and the restaurant very crowded and noisy.
The décor is appealing, don't be fooled though... Overpriced and mediocre dishes. I ordered the Kerala style prawns, they were so small I could barely see them, whilst the gravy was tasty, I was disappointed that I had baby shrimps.
Karimeen fry and Karimeen pollichathu are very tasty dishes. varieties of Indian and continental dishes are available. most of the times you may have to reach their bit earlier to get a seat due to the rush, of course it is because of the atmosphere and taste of food
The restaurant is situated at busy M.G. Road. It is very popular for a special Kerala cuisine made with a variety of pearl fish called karimeen. The dish is karimeen pollichathu. The restaurant also serves alcoholic drinks from the bar of the Hotel. The quality of service as regards alcoholic drinks especially of cocktails is not up to the mark.... More
This restaurant is superb for its king fish curry meals.....!!!and those who love kochi....please do not miss this mouth watering fish curry prepared in traditional kerala style....and the service is good...the prices are a little bit high but it is not a problem for the food lovers!!!!
Ambience was great with upscale clean setting. Tasy food, seafood especially but portion sizes are small for the price. It also seemed as though they were in a hurry as our waiter barely spent any time at our table and rushed through our orders.
The Grand is legendary for its Kerala cuisine. For those who have an extra day in Fort Kochi, take the 30 minute cab ride to the heart of the shopping district.. You should go before 1 pm when the crowd piles in. Be prepared for delay in service and billing. The grub is authntic and economically priced. Lots of parking... More
