Quaint old place serving fantastic tiffin

Went for breakfast on a Sunday morning and the scene outside and inside the restaurant was quite chaotic. Guests were required to fend for themselves to find tables and get seated. Excellent place and services. Very very tasty dosa. Very nice place . They have maintained the same taste for the last 40-50 years. I have been visiting for the last 6-7 years. Of course the famous item is masala dosa. But there are other items which are equally good here . Like vada sambar, poori sagu and of course coffee.... More

Located in the Gandhi bazaar area of Basvangudi.,this is a very old eatery famous for its masala dosa dripping with ghee. It is a highly recommended place if you are a dosa lover, the flip side to it is the long waiting & also table sharing where sometimes you u end with people you wud rather not share your table... We went with big expectations as this is one of legendary restaurants in Bangalore. But we came back with big frustration that we could have had better food in darshinis even. We ordered Masala Dosa, Vada, Kesribath and Coffee. None of them were even average taste. Not sure whether food was good before.

The dosas served here are amazing. With a bit of butter on the dosa, it makes it more yummy and tasty. Hot dosas are served in the mornings and evenings. One of the best dosas of the town undoubtedly. The rava vada served here is also good. Chutney made here is unique and tasty. The staff and the owner of... More

The thick and crispy dosa - one of its kind - available only in VB! It is definitely something to rave about and must have to experience one of the older eat outs in Bengaluru. Though always crowded and wait period being very high, its worth all the trouble for the dosa. Do not miss the way the waiter balances... More

Never tried such Dosa in my life. The seating may seem odd but considering the queue, one would agree to be the best need of the situation. UNLIMITED Chutney and Sambar

The last time we went to Vidyarthi Bhavan, we swore never to go back. There were some serious experience issues. There was no queue management of the tons of people coming in . One would just walk in and hang around a table waiting for the diners to complete. That was embarrassing for us to do that and must have... More
