One of a kind

A not-so-fancy fuss free place, where you're literally made to sit like 'vidyarthis' and eat your dosa. There's always a queue here and you can forget about getting your own table. I went with a friend and found myself sharing the table with four others. The place was bustling and you were expected... read more

For all the travelers out there, if you are looking for authentic south indian masala dosa's then this is the place to be. The place is kind of low profile and not that easy to find for first timers, but when you are walking along the road in Gandhi Bazaar and you see a Queue outside a small nondescript place... More

My memories of hearing about and eventually dining goes back to my childhood! My dad was a regular visitor during his college days and heard a lot from him as to how Vidyarthi Bhavan was the only eatery close by and how it has grown into a landmark of Bengaluru! The attributes that attacts one to this place is its... More

We live in North Bangalore and after hearing about this place, visited for an evening Dosa. May be some years ago that was the only place for people in and around Gandhi Bazaar to have a snack outside their homes and hence the hype! We were totally disappointed. As one more reviewer has observed, after the wait once to get... More

Old is gold and it's so true and more in case of Vidyarthi Bhavan. This restaurant has a bigger space now but the space still seems less when you see the crowd. The ambience is basic and furniture is old but all this doesn't matter because its all about food. I always eat the ghee masala dosa which according to... More

1. I visited for evening snacks after listening to various reviews,TV shows. 2. The traditonal ambience in such a busy area is welcoming one. 3. The moment you take few steps beyond entrance gate of the restaurant , things change to good ambience and you love to sit down 4. I ordered Dosas. They have special texture on outside in... More

I really dont understand what makes people go gaga about this place. Crowded, dirty, filthy place. Dosas dipped in ghee will be served on tiny plates with chutney poured all over it. Bye the time the dosa reaches your table it will become moist and soiled by the chutney. No seperate bowl, no spoon, no place for handwash. You will... More

If you are in bangalore and quote masala dosa, vidyarthi bhavan is the answer on everyone's lips, true! It's a culinary delight and most of the senior citizens are obsessed with this place for the yummy crispy masala dosa. It's a must experience but it pays to have patience cause it is always crowded. Finally it's worth the wait and... More

The food tastes as old as the place! Sadly, the place is considered one of the oldest landmark restaurant in Bangalore. Irony, such pathetic food represents our Bangalore. I would rate a "BIG ZERO" for: Quality of food: "BIG ZERO" Taste of food: Vomiting experience Service: 'Ooooh, What's that?' will be the response from the restaurant's management and staff! It...
