Poor and Bad

I never understand why MTR is such a famous hangout. The Idly and vadas are not the best i had in Bangalore. Their service is pathetic and they are cashing just the historical piece of it. The crowd management is bad, tables are led in worst possible and inside of rooms... I am deeply disappointed... read more

MTR ! #Nammabangalore Masala dosa and Rava idli topped with the perfect chutney. Best place for the authentic South Indian food. A must visit for all the bangalore tourist. It's adjacently located near the Lal Bagh and most of the tourist landings! Well maintained and friendly staff.

This is a piece of living history. Go on a week day. Reach Early. Be prepared to wait. Will recommend two signature dishes - Masala Dosa and Rava Idli. They invented this stuff.

This review is about the original MTR in Mavalli area opposite to Lalbagh. The food is good but the service is not for slow-eaters. The keep coming very fast at you like in a marriage feast. They serve food as if we are free-loaders in a "baraat". If you miss an item, then only God help you. If you are... More

We had lunch at the self service wing of the MTR restaurant. The main wing was crowded on Sunday (as expected :) ). The self service wing is like a no frills version of the main restaurant. Food is delicious. We were really hungry after a long drive. In and out in 25 minutes!! No complaints.

I have been here more often for lunches, which are also great. The bisibele bhaat is to die for. The most popular thing to do is to go for a long morning walk in lalbagh, work up and appetite and then binge on the dosas and rava idlis guilt free.

Situated in a busy place of the city, this heritage joint provides lip smacking tiffin items including gulab jamoon, mini spread of dosas, rava idli, sweets. Need patience to get the table seats, as well the chain of servings ! ... But the taste is unique and worth the wait !

This is one of the most talked About heritage restaurant in south india. This place gives you the right answer for the most authentic food of erstwhile Karnataka. All the menu here is a gastronomic treat since ages, the filter cofee is a must must. If only you get a table or you got to wait hours And even the... More
