I last visited MTR more than 4 years back, however I could not stop myself from writing review because I believe it must be the same. I remember queuing-up with friend @ 8 P.M. to book a slot for dinner. And if luck shone, we would sit in one of the "Tiffin Rooms" and enjoy the endless array of dishes,... More

Having heard a lot of good words about MTR, I was very happy when I finally got a chance to visit this restaurant in person. Located right across from Lalbagh Botanical Garden, it is difficult to find a parking space. The building is very old with plastic chairs and non-existent decor. We had to pass through a maze of rooms... More

I happen to visit this place once in a quarter. As always I have liked their upma, rava idly and coffee. I liked their old styled ambience too. Given the location, I think it is good value for money too.

I visited this place for a lunch along with colleagues on a weekday. Most of us being from south of India, we liked the food very much. Pros: Unlimited Masala Dosas ;-) Home like food taste without too much spices. Best place to get tasty rice and sambar. Reasonable cost. Traditional food and traditional feel. Cons: Too crowded. Ambiance not... More

While staying in nearby hotel with forgettable restaurant, we chose to dine at renowned MTR. It opens only uptill 8:30, so we have to run and reach just around 8. Luckily we managed to enter and while asking for menu.....a big No. When asked for the option, nothing again but only Masala Dosa and Puri Saagu.....thats it. So we ordered... More

The MTR Gandhinagar is on the way from the airport if you have to go towards Koramangala side. Very close to Lalbaug. A wonderful steaming hot Idlis with Ghee and awesome sambhar and chutney, the Khara bhat (Upma) Dosa, everthing is good. I just cannot miss MTR.

Bangalore used to be the dosa capital of south India. Unfortunately most of the good ones have closed or, as has happened with Vidyarthi Bhavan, lost their quality and charm. The cooks in the new crop of tasteless joints with pretentious names, all called tinDi something, seem to have learnt their dosa recipes from youtube. MTR continues to stand tall... More

Its a good place with very authentic food. It would be great to try it out early morning. doe shave a lot of rush, but its all worth it. Would rate the ambiance as okay, and the service good. Is a very old old place, but on the main road. They have a special a/c room as well on the... More

Go to place early and you can avoid all the waiting. The place is good for morning breakfast or evening snacks. Dinner is served only on weekends. Try out rava idli, jamoon and on weekends special sweets. Also try out salad with ice-cream
