I was impressed with location and the feel of the restaurant as it casually scatters the tables around the yard interspersed with trees and lanterns. It looked intriguing with a promise of impressive dining experience. I came in with a friend to celebrate our successful adventure. First impression is very important, and it wasn't given – our server presented himself... More

The garden is very nice, a lot of space among the tables, big trees, no noise. Food was good and the portion even too abundant. We ate birany rice and tandoori chicken and we had the impression that the taste is not really "Indian", probably to be more attractive for tourist. Anyway we enjoyed our food.

Penguin has been consistently delivering delicious food, expert and friendly service, and a serene atmosphere in its garden. Their salads, sandwiches, and juices are composed of the freshest ingredients. Indian and Tibetan dishes are delicious, and even their take on most foreign foods results in a very good meal. I have been going for years—still my favorite place to eat... More

This relaxing outdoor restaurant has very good food, excellent service, and very fair prices. I have visited Ladakh on at least five different occasions and each time I have found Penquin Gardens continues to be a wonderfully enjoyable spot for both lunch and dinner.

they are sprawled all over Leh espec in Changspa. Expected more. It was a let down and the food just doesn't taste right. It is peaceful and quiet but that's because there's hardly anyone here. Was a disappointment definitely. They couldn't even get the ginger tea right. The sizzler was definitely better at World Café.

I am a regular in Penguin Garden since 10 years, and I can confirm, this is the best beer garden, breakfast garden, tandoori restaurant, german bakery in Leh. Most friendly service, food and drinks just the right way done, good value for money, and now even with WLAN. I love this place !

The restaurant seemed to be a favorite, esp. among the western tourists. It's a good place to dine and relax. We ordered trout with mashed potato and stirred fried vegetables which took long to make but it's worth the wait and money! The trout was very fresh and quite big in size (we paid for 500 Rs. each) though mashed... More

This hidden gem is the perfect escape from the busy markets. I got a fresh squeeze juice and the Israeli breakfast. My boyfriend got the regular breakfast. We both loved our food and the quite beautiful spot. Highly recommended by a hungry Canadian couple :)
