We had read wonderful reviews about this place. When we reached there, it was a sight we weren't expecting. Small, dusty place, with not much choice in the menu. We picked up a carrot cake and cashew bite (they were ok, nothing out of the world). I thought of taking apple pie also but there were flies sitting on it.... More

This review is about Pumpernickel bakery and its sister concern, Rendezvous Cafe. Rendezvous Cafe: Good place to have breakfast The Cafe opens early and its selection of 'set breakfast menu' is a relief. We had a Israeli and French breakfast and we were not disappointed. The hummus was fresh and so were the pita breads. The croissant was a home... More

The cashew and almond triangles are very good. It is hidden in a little sidestreet, because the mainroad is under construction.

Pastries sit under the counter all day and gradually dry out. Our cinnamon roll was a dry bready eat. No diet coke either. Really couldn't see what the fuss is all about. Try somewhere else.

It's not worth coming here in the late afternoon. There's just a bunch of fairly skanky leftovers available, which have presumably been sitting there on display all day. I perused the available selection and then decided I really didn't want to risk taking a hit. Probably it's a lot better in the morning when everything is fresh.

One of the popular and tasty bakeries in Leh. While it was owned by German and then a Ladakhis, right now it's run by a Punjabi. We had an Almond cake followed by a Coffee cake. We also got ourselves a generous portion of Yak cheese from there. It is quite delicious if you can overcome the slightly strong smell... More

Probably our 2nd favourite place in Leh. Mainly because they had a kid friendly menu. Stay away from the pastries, not because it's bad but we couldn't find any good pastries in Leh. Maybe it's the altitude that makes bread and cakes hard. The lasagna was a favourite for the kids, and so were their pancakes.

Fresh cookies, cakes, rolls with robust flavours which keep you going there for more.. A must - visit in Leh. Do try out the Lemon Cinammon roll and walnut cake.
