Decent food, Open area restaurnt

We did dine at Tao Cafe. The food was good, it has a nice seating area outside where you can have your food and enjoy the nice weather as well.

By looking at the restaurant hoarding, you'd give it a miss as they've put it up more than a decade ago. It's actually situated near the GPO, away from the main market of lal chowk. An open air restaurant under the shade of Chinars (Maple tree), the atmosphere is soothing. Don't know if they've restarted operations after the 2014 floods... More

Hey all, not really a review of the restaturant as it ha been closed for the last 9 months as a result of the big floods that swept through Kashmir last year. We tried to visit on 16th May 2015, easy to find but completely boarded up and out of action. Hopefully they will be able to re-open soon.

its about 100 years old as per my information! the waiter informed me and also said that tao is a religion in Japan and the owner belongs to Japan. You may order food and enjoy in the open garden. its something different in the city. just near by the Sonwar area.
