Good food, friendly service

There were few restaurant options near our guesthouse, so we were quite happy to find O'Coqueiro just down the road. Not only did it open early and stay open late, the young couple who own it provided good food in a garden setting. . .nice ambiance, good prices. Good coffee too.

The food at O'Coqueiro was delicious every time we visited. Muesli with curd and fruit all served separately for breakfaste easily lasted me until dinner. Pomfret was all I could expect, the aubergines were mouthwatering... The background music was perfectly picked out for a laidback atmosphere of this family run restaurant/ And yes! The host and the cook has an... More

Gone there after reading lot of good reviews. But it was a let down. They tried to make it look classy by putting decorative lampposts and book stand, but when a half naked fat man came out of the house in which verandah this restaurant is built, you lose half of your appetite. Overall ambience is very dull and humidity... More

The owner is from the UP hills and the restaurant itself is a small house and the sitting arrangements are out in the open. The owner knows his food, however he is a lil expensive especially when you order seafood. Make sure you negotiate the price of items which are not priced on the menu before you order. The food... Although the owner was friendly the food we ordered was bland and almost without taste and bland. The only good dish served was the fish massala that was really tasty. The rest of the food was mainly without flavour, specially the "caldo de camarão" that I ordered, which was supposed to be "portuguese comida". Not worth the time nor the... More

Tedious to locate it ,besides being over rated it does not half reach its publicity.though the owner prepared fresh dishes ordered the prawns needed to be searched out in the curry.

We love this place and head here on every trip to Diu. I love the absolutely fresh seafood. Stick to the Indian / Portugese preparations and you will know what I mean. The Continental style dishes are ok, but nothing great. Have the shark ambot thik and other dishes like that and you will love the place. Don't expect quick... More

Just visited this place for lunch. The guy who owns this place is very unfriendly, unaccommodating and arrogant. The food is just ordinary! Only pesto pasta was good. Not ready to do any alterations or add ons. French fries were not properly cooked and so full of oil, we could not eat them. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Have had meals here more than a couple of times. The food is good here, though on the expensive side. However, when you take into consideration all the overheads the owner has to cover it is justified. Try the spicy lentil curry with fried fish and rice, it was totally delicious!! Do carry your insect repellent with you (I always... More
