Better than Denny's/Ihop

I'm someone who actually likes a good Waffle House so when I say this place is like someone took over a Waffle House sized restaurant and took away the corporate stuff and made it a little homier I consider it a complement. Good food, didn't really wait on a Sunday morning which was nice. Good... read more

Nothing fancy or pretentious. Good food, fun to watch the action behind the counter as the cooks make ur meal. Nominated for the best breakfast burrito in New Mexico. Same waitresses for years. Local owned by George and his son.

Waffle & Pancake Shoppe looks like a converted Waffle House, nice selection on menu, service was quick and friendly. Coffee cup never allowed to go below half cup, had the chicken fried steak breakfast, cook just right, came to table faster than expected, hot and eggs cook, just right. Lots of locals (not there's a lot of local in Alamogordo),... More

A great local eatery where you can have the standard breakfast choices and a killer green chili sauce to cover you omelet or burrito. Their home fried potato are good covered with the sauce too. You can also order a tasty chicken fried steak and eggs that is going to satisfy the hunger pains. Don't miss this establishment.

Had been looking for a good mom n' pop breakfast place and found the near perfect one. Huge, cheap breakfasts and a bottomless coffee cup. The green chili salsa was as terrific as the staff was friendly. A little tough to find, with that big Denny's sign looming over it, it's small, with limited seating. However, any wait is worth... I get it, this place has been around a looooong time and some of the employees have been there just as long (or maybe she was the owner??). I have always enjoyed the food, but I moved away and have been gone for almost 15 years. In that time I have grown up and became a huge foodie. With that... More

Service was great. The place is a little dated but the food and service made up for it. Food was fresh and fast. Coffee hot. Fair price. Would go there again.

This joint is hopping! The whole thing is an experience. The fry-cooks gossip with their friends at the counter, while keeping food moving; they're in the zone. Waitresses fly past, but see your every need written on your face and fill it. This place has a Denny's sign up in front, and the place was clearly a Waffle House once... More

We've eaten at the Waffle House for many years. It's like an "old time" cafe It's small, there's usually a line, but it usually doesn't take more that 10 minutes to get a booth, table or opening at the counter. Again, nothing fancy, but great food & fair prices. The omelets are huge! Again, this is a locally owned business,... More
