Ate here once and it seemed nothing was made from scratch. Had a chicken fried steak and it came with I think instant potatoes and some sort of canned veg. Place is done up for bikers.

The last time I sort of raved about this place. This time we ordered a barbeque dish that underwhelmed. It had cut up chicken on top, cole slaw under that and a corn biscuit under that. It took a heavy dose of barbeque and green chile sauce to give it any taste. Bad choice? They should fix it or take... More

Food was absolutely horrible. Service was so-so. Will never go back and most definitely will never recommend.

The food is awesome here! Try the fried pickles. Try everything! Don't forget to visit the goats next door.

We went before closing one evening and I was sure glad we did. The service was great...I kept asking for things and our server brought everything with no problem. We got the best chile cheese fries I've had in a very long time and the BBQ was delish. I recommend the ribs! I'm super picky about potato salad and this... More

My husband had the green chili stew, which is very hot and lots of it + 1/2 a sandwich of brisket. Good smoked flavor but very very dry (we've had better). I had the 1/2 chicken fried steak, which was good, mashed potatoes, which had that funny flavor of I'm not sure margarine? Cream gravy and wonderful green beans. They... More

This is the place to go for understated wonderful southwestern food. No pretenses, just good grub at a fair price. And remember, ask about which peppers they are cooking with, they may bring tears to your eyes.

Pros: grilled trout, green chile stew, visiting the goats, and Wayne Cons: none The outside dining is a fantastic option for us, not to mention that our dog loves her "milkbone plate" brought out immediately upon our arrival every time. The inside decor is a reflection of Wayne and very interesting topics while dining. The food is very good, notably... More

I actually got in trouble saying that Sunset Run had the best Chicken-fried steak around. Probably shouldn't have said it to my wife. But it's true. It's a huge portion with two sides, perfectly made white gravy, all at a very reasonable price. Wayne has built a friendly, clean, fun restaurant on the outskirts of Alamogordo, NM that I --... It was just okay. The chicken fried steak was below average, but the gravy was good. The had homemade potato chips which very tasty, but way toooo salty. I think it is my last meal here. Yes the goats are cute. Hope they don't end up you you plate.
