We had the popular local seafood soup at a couple of different restaurants, and Luces del Norte was by far the best! We loved the quirky atmosphere, too.

I first dined at Las Luces del Norte Restaurante 25 years ago when I worked in San Pedro Sula. Every weekend I’d head down to Tela located on Honduras’ impressive North Coast to enjoy the town’s laid back vibes and underused beaches. Back then Luces was owned and run by the husband –wife team of Jimmy (hailed from North America)... More

Although it was difficult to imagine that at this place we may get something decent, the food was amazing, everything we ordered was delicious. Ceviche I found the best I have ever tried.

Las Luces Del Notre is a great restaurant and the prices can't be beat. Many tourists from Europe, Asia and the U.S. go there because it is friendly, they have a good library and the service is excellent. I live in the NYC area and the last time I was there the people at the table next to us were... More

The restaurant installed in an old building does not appeal to any person walking down the street unless you drop inside and look at the menu. Like most of the construction of Tela, the building needs some TLC. In fact, I walked by 3 times before realizing that it was a respectable restaurant with a prolific menu of seafoods. Indeed,... This is a very nice restaurant with plenty of fans to keep you cool. We enjoyed the meal and the service.

Simply the best seafood I have ever had at a fantastic price. The small paella could have fed 3 people! The shrimp soup was delicious and less filling. The battered fish tasted like it had just been caught. If you have a pina colada ask for less sugar in it (generally Hondurans seem to like things very sweet)

The seafood soup was excellent, and other dishes - fried fish, ceviche - were good to OK. But the service was really slow and erratic. Drinks took forever, and one member of out party didn’t get his meal until the other four of us were almost finished eating (with no explanation). Maybe it was an off night, though the restaurant... We could hear the school marching band practicing on the street corner - an added touch to this great little place. I had a delicious paella while my buddy had an excellent steak. The decoration is Caribbean, the staff friendly and professional and the wine at a fair price. Our salads were also fresh and good. All at reasonable prices.... More
