Description: Situated on the 'chic-er' side of the strip, The Kora has been dubbed the little oasis in the heart of the sometimes manic village of the Senegambia area. Serving a varied and international choice of cuisine, The Kora mainly focuses on a grilled style of cuisine using only the freshest catches and finest cuts of food. We are also very well known and popular for our bar (we challenge you to show us a better looking bar in The Gambia) containing what is quite probably the largest alcohol collection in The Gambia and dispensing the finest cocktails on the West African coast. Don't take our word for it - read our reviews and hear what the customers say themselves! An eclectic selection of music accompanies you at your table, setting you in a relaxed mood either around our outdoor bantaba (terrace) or inside amongst rich West African wood architecture. Soak in the relaxed yet intimate atmosphere and enjoy local art works/pictures/crafts/paintings that surround you.Once we have satisfied your belly and soothed your soul allow us to stimulate your mind and senses as we become a lively and friendly bar attracting a true cross section of Gambian residents and tourists in a welcoming melting pot.

A very nice restaurant set a little further along to the road in the Senegambia strip. We were welcomed into the restaurant and had a delicious meal - tortillas. The Barman, Patrick was very welcoming and polite and made the most awesome cocktails, the coffee one was particularly fine (can't quite remember the name!). If we return we will most certainly... More

We visited The Kora early on Saturday evening towards the end of the season and we were the only ones there. To be fair it did start to fill up a little later on. The bar area is comfortable and there is a wide range of cocktails on offer. The management claim to have the biggest range of vodka in... More

I ordered a fish dish; choice of Lady Fish, Butterfish or Barracuda. I chose Butterfish as I'd not tried it before. When the waitor took my plate away he said I hope you enjoyed your Barracuda! So we checked with the waitress and she said she had changed my order in the kitchen. Not the end of the world as... More

kora pretends to be a high quality restaurant at the back of the senegambia strip. I ordered thai chicken curry, expecting a good homemade sauce. What I got was a packet of shop bought curry powder mixed with hot water that I was able to name. I also told the waiter that this company make 3 different powders and the... More
