Located in the 5 star Hyatt Regency Sharm El Sheikh . The resort's specialty restaurant, entirely hand-carved in Egypt and Italy and modeled on a traditional Thai garden house (hence the name "Sala"). The lobby entry draws the guest through massive carved doors into a quaint bar. Its window overlooking the bay and a softly lit cove ceiling are simple but characterful. The restaurant itself is breathtaking: large windows overlook the Red Sea and lead to a magnificent two-level terrace; a dramatic beamed ceiling and walls are intricately carved with nature scenes; greenery is oriental in style and sits in handmade ceramic planters; seats have comfortable armrests and brightly coloured cushions; it all creates an Eastern style sensuality that permeates every inch of this alluring restaurant. A brass and raised bronze applique forms the backdrop of the wooden canopied theatre kitchen. As inside seating is on two levels, guests may gaze upon the chefs' performances while breathing in the heady scents of lemongrass and ginger. Theatrical lighting makes this part of the room the centre of the action.

Seating up to 10 guests around a traditional round table, a private dining room is a temple of outstanding design, offering up truly remarkable double views of the Gardens Bay.

Very good quality thai food

Tried the restaurant when we were staying in the hotel and it was fantastic. We ordered a selection off the menu and whilst the service was very slow as I think they had forgotten to put our order through, the food was exceptional.

Having never tried Thai food before, we chose to try this lovely restaurant in the Hyatt Regency after a recommendation from a friend. I was blown away by the tastiness of the food. It is all prepared in an open kitchen at one end of the restaurant. The restaurant itself is quiet and tranquil. Service and food are both exceptional.... More

The staff were lovely and the ambiance is great, but to be honest the food was disappointing especially for the price. Both main dishes were watery and lacked flavour which is the essence of Thai cuisine.

This is our third visit to Hyatt Regency Sharm and we have been to Sala Thai several times and it is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere and the service is impeccable! The Thai chef came to visit at the table every night and the rest of the staff is really attentive and will... More

Outstanding Thai food - stunning views from outdoor seating. The chef came out and asked if we enjoyed the food - great personal touch!

The visit to Hyatt won't be complete without visiting this great Restaurant. The restaurant's head chef is from Thailand, so you can be sure the food is authentic. The menu is great with a lot of choice. They also have kids menu that serve chicken kebabs etc (no fast food nonsense) Excellent food, amazing views on the hotel grounds. They... More

After eating bland hotel food this was a much appreciated change. I was able to book a table before we left for Sharm, and that, if you have tried booking other things in Egypt is very hard. The food was delicious and spicy and the atmosphere was lovely. We had a table outside which overlooked the sea, with attentive waiters.... More

I have been to Sala Thai a few times since the past 4 years. My last review was 2 yeas ago, so here is a little update. I general the food is very authentic thai food, service level is high and the atmosphere is good. I had spicy beef salad, wonton with chicken and pad thai. I noticed that the... More
