Visited here twice during our recent 2 weeks in El Gouna, excellent meal both times on par with fine dining at home but half the price. Highly recommend this place for an excellent meal with attentive and friendly staff.

El Gouna has many wonderful restaurant's but in its top ten there are three which standout, they are Maritime, in the Marina with views over the fantastic elite yachts, Jo Bo's which has a fun sports atmosphere, but rising above them all is Upstairs, its ideal location located in the middle of Down Town. It has ambiance oozing from every... More

We ate here twice during our 11 day stay in el gouna. The service is excellent and the food very good too. Particularly like the complimentary garlic bread and hors d'oevres. The waiter was so friendly and well mannered. We'll definitely go back on our next visit to el gouna.

I tried this restaurant mainly because it looked a little bit more classy than others in the area. As you can see from the pictures it has a French look about it. I wasn't disappointed with that aspect at all, the tables have skirts with fresh white cotton tablecloths and napkins. After ordering I was presented with a little nibble... More

We have been visiting Upstairs for many years, in it's current location and in it's previous location when it really was Upstairs. And even though there are several restaurants that are now close to the mark, it is still our favourite restaurant in El Gouna. The service, food, atmosphere, welcome and facilities were all brilliant. It's nice that the price... More

It was a fairly quiet evening and we wandered around for some time, but having read Tripadvisor reviews we gave this a whirl, and were delighted we did. The waiter was extremely professional and attentive, took our order quickly and it wasn't too long before the starters arrived. I had lobster soup which was delicious and slow roast duck for... More

This was our 3rd time in El Gouna and we had been on our previous visits to eat at Upstairs. The staff remembered us from last time and we got a genuinely warm welcome. Although the menu hasn't changed since last time, the quality and value of the food is still really good. In particular I recommend trying their signature... More

Lovely menu with pretty good local wine (don't expect it to be top shelf french stuff but it is pretty nice). The biggest treat was the staff who had the same expectations of what they you're supposed to do as a waiter at a fancy restaurant (i.e. top up the wine without bugging the customer) but actually get how it... While staying in El Gouna We visited this very 'English' style reataurant and found it to be the best in Downtown El Gouna. Not upstairs at all but a very smart eatory which would almost be 4 rosettes if it were in the Uk and very reasonably priced. Far from what was on offer in other local restaurants, great starters...
