I now live in Manta part time and would like to review some restaurants here. Las Velas is the best restaurant on the busiest beach here in Manta. I eat there often. The owner is Diana Felipe, cell 5938-302-1932, and the restaurant phone is 5935-262-9396. The chef is Ariel Vazquez, Chef Internacional. I would love to write it up, if you will accept it.

Worst service ever!!!!

My Pops and I went there around 2pm and the place was 3/4 full( always a good sign). We sat down and the waitress brought us menus . We asked about drinks she said they had beer . But really they had plenty of booze behind the bar . So we ordered drinks and ceviche. The drinks came our pretty... read more

6 friends, looking for lunch at the beach, settled on Las Velas, due to their comfy chairs. Everyone tried something different, tuna, dorado, swordfish, arroz y cameron....the tuna was #1, and the arroz had tons of flavourful shrimp. We loved it!

Saturdays are Gringo lunches with great food and drink and good prices. We love to eat there when we feel like sitting on the beach with great food and cold crevasses. It is my husband and my favorite place to relax and the people there are great. Join us.

Just returned from dinner and had great expectations after reading reviews. Ordered the grilled lobster plate for $25 for a treat. Plate arrived but no lobster on the plate so I called the waiter over but he said no, there is no lobster in the plate ??? Really ... Many other boardwalk restaurants have pictures of their lobsters ... Perhaps... More

I have visited this restaurant twice in the last 6 months, it is definitely the best place to eat on the Malecon (Manta sea front). It's a beachside restaurant so don't expect a grand setting, it's white plastic chairs with padded covers. Though what you are going for is the seafood, which is very good, great cerviche and on my... More

This restaurant was recommended to us and we were not disappointed. Husband had the corvina simply seasoned with garlic, and some lemon, It was excellent. Margarita very weak, little to no tequila because prices are very high on liquor in Ec. Nice breeze off the ocean made the experience even better

Nearly missed this place amongst a row of mundane eateries. I noticed the somewhat faded Trip Advisor sign so went in. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fish cerviche and Lomo de Corvina. Prices reasonable and good service, the latter particularly, given that a US tour group had taken over half of the seating. Only prob.... More

We have attended a couple Gringo meet-ups here and have enjoyed our meals each time. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful (one of the owners speaks English). So with our broken Spanish and their English, we did fine! The food is very good. We enjoyed their fried shrimp. The arroz con camarones is also very good. The... More

Staff at our hotel recommended Las Velas for lunch today. Ambiance was the mostly pleasant, typical beachfront restaurant with occasional vendors, beggars and musicians adding to the experience. Service was adequate. Prices seemed high but we've just come from San Clemente. Shrimp ceviche was unremarkable compared to all of the other shrimp and seafood ceviches we've eaten along the coast...
