It became quite clear that this restaurant was a hangout for ExPats and ExPat "wannabes." We were there for lunch and the food was excellent as well as the service. However the price was certainly influenced by the fact that it is frequented by ExPats because it was higher than typical for a lunch. What bothered us most about this... More

A wonderful place to meet locals and have a quick lunch if three is no time. Daily specials are always good

But besides pancakes, they have a variety of egg dishes for breakfast as well as several lunch choices. Their Burritos are good, made with chicken.

Blueberry pancakes that are delicious and very good burgers. Santiago (the owner) is very friendly and makes wonderful food. The restaurant is very popular with expats who love to spend the morning chatting and sipping coffee. Also has the best home made ice cream and chocolate chip cookies in town.

The food and service were okay, but I didn't particularly like going here. There are expats doing deals all the time and it is impossible to get away from it. Not exactly what I want to accompany my meal.

The food is good and so's the brewed coffee -- free refills. They have an American style breakfast. The cobblers, which they make from time to time, are excellent. There are a number of gringo hangouts in Cotacachi that are good (Serendipity & Trebol), but we always seem to gravitate to this one.

Had blueberry pancakes-really good, so was the smoothie. Expats speak highly of this place. A hint- go inside to order. First time there I sat outside waiting for service so just go inside, read the menu and their excellent choices will be bought to you.

Solid Rock is a neat little cafe tucked back in off of Leather Street. It caters to the Gringo tastes and is a good place to meet with friends for a nice visit while you are exploring Cotacachi. Some outdoor seating, which is rare in Ecuador. Down Leather Street (Diez de Augusto) closer to the market.

They have a good breakfast and the only restaurant in town with free refills of coffee. They are known for their hamburgers and taco's but I have had better.
