First time eating here, FYI it HAS a liquor license, no longer BYO. my husband and I shared the steamed shumai which we absolutely loved and the spring rolls which were also great...as a main I had the branzino, it was very light and healthy meal. My husband had the meatloaf which was in a broth so it was really... More

Had the good fortune of visiting Taka on a recent Friday night for dinner. My girlfriend and I arrived at this restaurant in Asbury Park, NJ without a reservation and upon entering, I had my doubts. The hostess station greet us as we walked in, which was adjacent to a noticeable cheap looking coat rack, however, the hostess was less... More

I have been there numerous times and have never had a bad meal. Th mussels in the green tea sauce when they have them are delicious.. Sushi is always fresh. Other things on the menu have been great too.. It is a BYOB which i think is great.. The green tea cheese cake is a must try..

We recently dined at Taka for the first time. We were there with a couple we know who lives in Asbury Park and frequents this restaurant a lot. We liked the decor of the restaurant. I thought it was interestingly decorated with great restraint. Everything we had was decently prepared and tasted good. I think this would be a great... More

We showed up at Taka, five friends without a reservation, first mistake on a Saturday at 6 pm. So...the only table available was outside. Ok...the waitress rearranged the table for us..but we were not thrilled with the spot...ok, but the owner needs to invest in new outdoor furniture. The chairs were worn, uncomfortable and flimsy. For such a great interior... More

I was really looking forward to trying Taka, and I was a bit disappointed the first time around. The shumai was great and homemade. The service was ok. The sushi rolls were average. I have had better. While it didn't live up to the hype, the entrees look interesting, so I will be back to sample them.

Very good sushi with a variety of selections. Service was great and the décor nicely done with plenty of seating both in door and out door.

The sushi is excellent, fresh and affordable. Our waiter was knowledgable and very helpful. All of his recommendations were spot on and my boyfriend and I really enjoyed our meal, drinks and service.

This restaurant has a cool miami type vibe. Very chic atmosphere, and the best sushi around. They sushi is always super fresh, and they are very accommodating to my gluten free restrictions. Used to be byo, but now even better with full bar. Try it!!!!
