Old Man Rafferty's has been re-purposed as "Prohibition" and I have not been there yet. It's major focus is a bar, rather than restaurant. I miss the old place.

Cakes are fantastic, rest of food rather average. Servers are nice. Sit by the window to see tourists walking by.

Old Man Rafferty's closed its doors in August 2014. Just writing to alert TripAdvisor and readers that the place is under new management. Prohibition, the new place, had a soft opening in September 2014, with an official opening slated for early October.

Lousy service, bad management (nasty people with a crappy attitude) and so so food. No wonder it's no longer a Raffertys. The one in New Brunswick is ten times better. The place is under new management and the restaurant has a new name. Hopefully the staff was replaced. No big loss.

4 of us had lunch on Sunday. The first thing I noticed was how empty the restaurant was. Our food was bland at best. 3 of us ate all of our main course, one of our party had 3 bites and commented, I just don't want to eat a meal of canned food. I ordered a skim latte and received... More

I am a fan of Old Man Rafferty in New Brunswick. The Asbury location was disappointing in quality of food and service

recently went for drinks at the bar. The service was so bad that we couldn't wait to leave. I don't know if the bartender was new or what, but there weren't many people there, and it took forever to get a drink. I've heard from others that have eaten there that it isn't as good as the Old Man Rafferty's... More

There were five adults in our party. There is a big menu to choose from. The salmon dish was a little on the dry side, but the flavor was good. The calamari appy came with three sauces for dipping and it was delicious. The service was wonderful. My best part was the dessert. We shared a chocolate devils food cake... More

We visited Asbury Park in September. We saw Old Man Rafferty's and were familiar with the New Brunswick,NJ restaurant so, we took a chance. The restaurant was empty and we had 3 adults,1 child in our group. We ordered salads and a grilled cheese for the child. None of the items should've taken more than 15 minutes to prepare. It...
