johnny mac's has to be the worst place my wife and i ever went to. the free pizza takes about 45 minutes, and the guy making it looks annoyed that you asked him. when we went to the bar we were ignored, and then the female bartender made a rude remark at my wife in front of the other male... More

Johnny Mac's is a place where people from all walks of life go. Johnnys has punks, to suits. Johnny's has a friendly bar staff, big bars, a new outside patio area coming and cool little things that make this bar popular. Johnnys has candy trays, Skee Ball, good music and other cool stuff that keep people coming back. If you... More

Johnny Mac's is always a good choice if you are looking to be were the crowd is at. Pro's: Johnny Mac's has a great beer selection and is always high energy inside. It is connected to what seems to be an expanding local Johnny Mac empire, a restaurant and another bar and beer garden. Con's: (For me) It is often... More

Each time I've been here the service could definitely be improved on. It's a popular place and I understand it gets busy, but I've been there on much slower nights and had the same issues with not getting served. Also, when I pay for a mixed drink I expect there to be a hint of the taste of alcohol in... More

I've been to Johnny Mac's a number of times over the years and have enjoyed the reasonably priced drinks and the unfortunately increasing quarter-at-time fun at the skee-ball games in the down stairs portion. I don't mind skee-ball went up as others complained. It's just the same price as the boardwalk. Although if it were to go back to 50... More

Well, if I start off a review saying that a place is 'ok for a beer' than that let's you know where I am going. It is ok for a beer - period. Do you want a beer? They have them. I went here with a few friends and was immediately put off by the female bartender that messed up... More

In December I decided that I would get a few friends together and try Johnny Macs, but we would soon realize this bar was a mistake. I will first start by stating the bar is a nasty mess. The decor is dated and the place itself needs a good cleaning. The manikin in the corner by the bar (all dressed... More

Always the first stop after getting off the train. Free pizza ticket with each drink - you do pay$1 for extra toppings. Good draft beer selection as well. I don't know the bartender's name, but she makes the best bloody mary on Sundays. Sunday has mimosa and bloody mary specials and you get a free omelet ticket. The omelet line... More

This is the bar that gives you street cred in Asbury Park. First off, let me just say that you get a free pizza per drink. A FREE PIZZA. Do I have to say more? Alright I will. After you eat your pizza, and drink your drink, you can find your way over to an abandoned iron oven where there's... More
