Toast is one of the success stories anchoring the revitalization of downtown Asbury, 4 blocks west of the boardwalk. Brick walls, tattooed waitresses, and a few unusual menu items (ex. red velvet french toast) that we've never failed to enjoy. Beware the odd parking rules on that section of Cookman.

Tried Toast this morning with a friend. A Monday morning, perfect day no crowds kind of experience. Big plus, free handicap parking right in front. Big plus several tables available on sidewalk. Quick and friendly service. The menu had variety but lacked excitement. If I can make my mind up and not say-"gee I'd like to try so many things... More

A little walk from the boardwalk but well worth the effort. The service was friendly and quick. The food was hot and delicious. Great value for the money.

I went here with my wife on Father's Day. The wait was long and then we found out we could have eaten right away outside. Bad communication on someone's part. I started out with a root beer float. For $ 4.00 it was really small. So was the stuffed french toast. It was good but the Red Apple outside Chicago... More

Went to toast on Memorial Day. Short walk from the Berkeley Hotel and we always see people waiting so you know it's good. It did not disappoint. Food was great. Their in-house Hot Sauce is fantastic and we purchased a few to go. The server didn't know they sold it there but when we asked someone that looked like the... More

Read about "TOAST" in a New Jersey magazine where it received rave reviews. While the food is good and the service was very good, it's just a bit too noisy for our taste. Asbury Park, NJ has really changed. It's been forty years since we were there. Many fine restaurants and businesses to frequent. A new board walk that has... More

went here twice for breakfast. Must go off hours as the wait is long. Pancakes and eggs good, but nothing out of ordinary. It is a pricey place for breakfast. I just as soon eat a local diner it is also quite noisy due to it always being crowded.

Toast was recommended to us by the bartender at Porto's; It's best to sit at the counter for breakfast, as the tables are quite small and not very spacious! The 2 ladies at the counter are friendly, and provided exceptional service! Highly recommended, as there really is not many places that offer breakfast.

The red velvet pancakes are different and delicious. This would be my first choice if in Asbury Park and looking for a breakfast place.

Had Brunch here on Memorial Day. It was VERY busy and the staff looked wiped out by 1:30pm when we arrived here (I work in the business so I felt sorry for them although I'm sure the servers did well financiallly:). Although we arrived close to closing time, the staff was very friendly and the food was really tasty. Lots... More
