Overpriced and mediocre

The presentation is great, but the food was nearly flavorless. The service was good, though, and the location can't be beat. Had a full on dinner here, soup to nuts, and I can't recall what I ate, and I don't have the energy to blah blah blah about mediocre food. Sorry, Cubacan, but I was... read more

On a recent Sunday lunch visit, my sister and I enjoyed cocktails and tapas. Please ignore the other negative reviews, criticizing the quality of service and authenticity of food. We ordered the Cuban corn (delectable!), burger and chorizo sliders (nicely spiced and rich), smoked swordfish tacos, and what seemed to be a chorizo hotpot with olives and potatoes. The only... We had dinner last night at Cubacan and were seated at an outside table on the boardwalk. The food and service were both very good which was expected for this pricey establishment.

This restaurant is on the boardwalk and if you get a table near the boardwalk you will have an unobstructed view of the Atlantic Ocean. The food is very good and as the name indicates Cuban. My wife and I both had Empanadas for an appetizer and they were very good. I had the Chorizo, she the Chicken. For my... More

Wow. The first time I went to Cubacan last year, I had a great meal in a lovely setting. Tonight, despite the Chamber of Commerce weather and seats outside on the boardwalk, the food was horrifying. The swordfish taquitos were served in pre-made small hard taco shells and had little flavor other than the smoked swordfish, which was passable. The... More

My girlfriend and I were greeted immediately by a young man who was polite and promptly escorted us to our table outside . It was my first time dining in Asbury and we chose the Cubacan for the evening . We sat for about 5 minutes before being greeted . We order our drinks which were two watermelon mojitos. The... More

Nice outdoor seating overlooking the ocean. Food and portion size was wonderful and delicious. But as for the service, one of the worst we ever had. We ordered drinks and waited at least a half an hour before they came, waitress claiming the bartender had to cut up apples for the sangria. The main entrée took just as long to... More

I stopped for lunch on a Wednesday. I ordered a Pacifico beer and received a Sol beer. I ordered Chicken Soup and when I lifted the lid, ithere was yellow rice. When I finally received my soup, there was a nice sized bone in it. I told the waitress to tell the manager, and she did not. I was charged... More

Stopped in asbury park to see all the changes that have been happening there and the new restaurants- went for a walk on the boardwalk and cam across the little place called Cubacan. The weather was not good but if its nice you can sit outside on the boardwalk and enjoy the ocean air- first of all the service was... More
