Return to Asbury Park and Cubacan

Spur of the moment decision to meet friends on Asbury Park Boardwalk on Memorial Day weekend and we found ourselves in front of Cubacan. Went here for lunch and drinks and it was very nice. Got a few apps like sliders, wings, salad, and black bean soup. Drinks we enjoyed were white wine, red sangria, and mojitos (lime and mango). The service was very good. A little pricey but would definitely return again for lunch or dinner.

Cubacan's happy hour is great- cheap drinks and discounted bar food. The bartenders are always friendly and the drinks are great. I recommend the Cuban sandwich for happy hour, and one of the fish dishes for dinner. I've done both and everything is always good! Perfect for the post-beach margarita!

I've been here on multiple occasions - one thing that is consistent is that it is an expensive restaurant, especially if you are ordering drinks. Some of the entrees are worth the price, such as the churrasco or garlic shrimp plants (important: if ordering the churrasco, request the chimichurri sauce on the side, otherwise it will overpower and ruin the... Stopped in today for lunch, monday, on the quiet side, but great service and an incredible Cubano sandwich with a nice side salad...fresh and perfect...enjoyed the ocean view as well.

Great service, and drinks at the bar! Can get pretty crowded. Went to happy hour and stayed a while longer for more good drinks. Did not have entrees, just apps (like the tostones). Don't have any complaints.

My wife and myself had a late lunch here on Sunday and we were pleasantly surprised. A friend mentioned this restuarant and we were not disappointed. We started out with the ceviche tasting which consisted of shrimp, tuna and red snapper some of the best I've had. Our next dish was the grilled octopus with arugula and chorizo vinaigrette, another... More

Stopped for a bite before a show at the Stone Pony. Didn't want a full dinner (which seemed quite large from seeing other diners' meals) so we went with a meal of appetizers. Started with the sliders made with beef and chorizo. Yummy! Calamares Fritos - it melted in your mouth, it was so tender. Cooked perfectly! Can't pass up... More

Ordered the peril is way bland, their rice and beans we only so so. My dates steak was also average at best. The dessert which was a pudding was very good and the only memorable part of the meal. How it got a zagat we rating is beyond me. least this meal
