This lovely family-owned restaurant is perfect for a night out in Asbury Park NJ. If you love soul food this is your place, and as American restaurants go, this place beats many of the best American restaurants in the area. Signature dishes include smothered or southern fried chicken, salmon cakes, or turkey chops. Collard greens, mac n cheese...it's all here,... More

We went there Saturday night with 2 other couples. The food was delicious and the staff/owners were so delightful. One person in our party was celebrating a birthday. One couple was celebrating their anniversary. We had such a great experience! I had the smothered fried chicken. A few in our party had the short ribs. 1 had fish and 1... More

My husband and I visited At the Table for our second time yesterday and knew that we must review it. At the Table has the best fried chicken I have ever enjoyed. The skin is perfectly crisp, but not only that, it is full of flavor. Being quite the connoisseur of homemade mac and cheese, I expected to find theirs... More

We found out about this restaurant from friends. We booked it on open table and proceeded to visit the restaurant. It was a Saturday night and as you know parking in Asbury Park is a nightmare. We decided to use the parking garage and found out it was free that evening, a very pleasant surprise. The restaurant window said this... More

The guy who served was terrible! The food was average, I'm not sure why they say it's a great southern restaurant! It's not! I'm a huge fan of southern food and this is not really close to the good restaurants I visited. I ordered the oxtail with a side of Mac and cheese and yams. The m&c is okay, the... More

I dined here last Saturday night with my wife. Located close to the Bangs Street parking deck, On the Table is in a very convenient location. When we arrived at 6:30pm it was bustling but there were still a few tables available. The menu is a nice variety of soul food/southern cooking with affordable prices and entrees all came with... I was really looking for some good fried chicken. I was very disappointed. It was dry and seemed to be cooked in old oil. No flavor. Atmosphere was uncomfortable with a huge TV playing the news loudly while we ate. Overpriced for what we got. We won't go back.

My husband and I have been meaning to try this restaurant and I'm so glad we finally did! Everything was delicious. It's a small storefront restaurant with very friendly service and amazing food. My husband doesn't usually rave about food, but tonight he did. First we were served delicious homemade corn muffins. For dinner I had fried chicken, candied yams... More

Wife and I went there with 6 pm reservation and was seated immediately. Wife had chicken and I had oxtails and everything was delicious and plentiful.

Good southern soul food with great prices. Small setting but great atmosphere and staff. Food is hot and fresh. Dine in or take-outs, try out the Sunday Brunch!
