My Colombian hosts told me that mondongo, a stew made from tripe (cow's intestines), is the National Dish. So naturally I had to try it. Sadly, tripe is not for me. If you like tripe, then go to Mondongo's because you can sit on the verandah and watch the world go by, and the service is good. If you don't... More

Yes, tripe is good. Very good. At least here it is. The mondongo stew here is savory, satisfying, so unlike anything I ever see on the menu. With all the fixings like avocado and banana and salsa it's excellent. Best service we've had in Medellin too. Well worth a few pesos on top of the standard service charge. Great sangria... More

A little pricey but worth trying it. It's a place for the locals and it does serve a tasty local food indeed. The portions are very big and the service is great

Our first experience with authentic Colombian food was very pleasant and interesting. Our wonderfully cordial and patient waiter delivered plates which were overflowing. One included sweet banana and green avocado, the other had a large chicharron (a long thick bacon like solid piece of pork), one small whole potato, a large pile of dry, finely minced meat, and a cooked... This is a great restaurant to try authentic Antioquian cuisine. It's in one of the nicer neighborhoods in Medellin, close the Parque Lleras. This also makes it a great restaurant for a Friday or Saturday night, because it is a short and safe walk from a lot of night clubs. Also, as a vegetarian, it was refreshing to find Authentic... I had the "Solomo Steak" which was good quality. I asked for some things to be changed on my sides and the waiter got it all wrong as he did for my Associate. Place is open air and a little noisy, and there may be flies. Food was ok a little over priced and the waiter we had was not... More

I tried the dish with the same name as the restaurant. It turned out to be a large bowl of soup. I'm not sure what kind of meat was in it, but it was a very hearty soup. It was really good and the service was good. I think it was about 22 mil pesos for the soup and a... More

If you haven't tried the traditional farmhand plate elsewhere, you might be interested in checking it out here. It usually consists of minced beef, a fried plantain, rice, some deep-fried pork skin (chichurron), beans, and maybe an egg. That said, you could probably do better. You would be lucky to find a fresh vegetable in this place. The food is... More

Very good traditional Colombian food including Bandeja Paisa. They also have a restaurant in Doral (Miami) FL. Reasonable prices and good food!
