In its own league!

We didn't check reviews before coming but we were recommended by the concierge at our hotel. I'm so glad we listened. Carmen is a truely fine dining experience. I got a beef tenderloin steak for lunch and it was so delicious I also ordered dessert which I rarely do. Service and atmosphere were top notch.

Nice restaurant, staff very attentive. I didn't have a starter, other parties did have the soup and thought it was delicious. I had the slow cooked pork as a main course, it was served rare, very pink and slightly bloody. Not happy with this I returned the dish, and got another not quite as similar but still rare. Would not... More

I didn't expect to find very fine inventive dining in Medellín. Yes there are very good classic French cuisine restaurants and plenty of really good Colombian food places to go - but nothing that pushes the boundaries of discovery. Until now. Carmen does what many restaurants in both NY and LA strive for - food that opens your mind and... More

I went to this restaurant yesterday, it as Valentín day, it was crowded which explains the slow services..., dishesh were not explain to us. I had the encurtido de salmon, which was good, and had a nice presentation. I had the unfortunate decision of having the Cerda double al vacio, very disappointing, pork does not fly well with this type... More

We ate at this restaurant over the weekend. I must say it was one restaurant that I had heard about but for some reason put off trying. The ambience is absolutely spectacular. Truly I felt like I was in a very trendy restaurant in New York City or perhaps San Francisco. The whole feel and experience is absolutely amazing and... More

My wife and I tried out Carmen in Cartagena, were impressed, and wanted to check out the mother ship. They are both really good, Bogota's being more swish, larger, less quirky. If you want an international eating experience, this is the place. Service is top-notch. Menu excellent and varied. Great for that special occasion! Locals seem to also love the... More

Went to Carmen based on trip advisor reviews and good search results and was so delighted that it held up to the hype. This place has amazing cocktails (try the Catrina which had tequila, mango, and chili peppers for spice), the service was phenomenal, and the food was super good and completely reasonable in terms of price. The atmosphere of... More

This was our best meal of our trip. I suggest you order the bahn sandwiches appetizers, their version of tacos and and salad to start and share. We had the pork entree which is one of the best pork dishes I have ever had. The tenderloin was delicious especially the scalloped potatoes it came with. Ending with a superb chocolate... More

Great restaurant in the vibrant city of Medellin. We were staying in the nearby Diez Hotel just a few minutes stroll away. We had the fresh 'del campo' salad, the 'tacos coreanos', the 'cerdo dos veces' and the 'avestruz'. the pig two times was really spectacular and an absolute signature dish for this restaurant. My wife had the fabulous 'La... More
