weird service, delishious ceviche

We arrived at the place opened at 7:03 PM. The servers were very nice, but the service was soooo slow. We then sat and waited 15 minutes for our drinks. Then 30 minutes after we arrived, they brought the delicious plantain chips and dip. We were annoyed and hungry. There are not a ton of... read more

In Centro but a little removed from the very busy, touristic area, a beautiful restaurant with excellent food, great decor and very pleasant staff. The ceviche Classico is delicious and so are the main courses. Definitely would return for more!

I've had an early dinner here while staying in Cartagena. I found it on Tripadvisor and popped in on a weekday around 7 o'clock. As I was the first customer of the day and I was the only one in for most of my visit I decided that I'll just have a beer and a main course. The menu was... More

We has one of the best meals in Salou during our stay in Cartagena. Located within the walled city of Cartagena(Centro), this restaurant is a cozy place to dine. High ceiling and light-rich setting, we felt relaxed and took time for our lunch. The glasses and cutleries were high-end as well. In addition, they did have an English menu, too.... More

I wanted to like this place but unfortunately the food was too fussy to be good. Too many flavours and presentation was on the messy side. Service was excellent and the waiters try very hard to do everything they can. Unfortunately the food let it down. Octopus was very tough, which the waiter exchanged it for another dish - salmon... Did the chef's tasting...so good. Phenomenal ceviches (cremosa and I forget the name of the green one) started us out. Had the fried thin plantain chips with a creamy mango salsa...it was so good we asked for seconds. The tuna tataki was not very memorable. The fried camaron relleno was okay but the corvina in mango chutney was delicious. Fresh... More

Small restaurant, portion are small, good food but too expensive. At the time we went for dinner there were not some dishes, for example steaks.

Salou had been recommended to us by friends and we have had it on our schedule for a few months. We are so glad we finally went! The restaurant is adorable, the black and white prints on the walls are beautiful and both food and service were fantastic! We ordered the "tiradito fusion" as well as the "pulpo", both appetizers... We are here after a Colombian friend recommended it to us. We had the tasting menu which is 4 dishes (2 small entrees and 2 small mains) + dessert which the cook chooses. It was absolutely delicious! Fresh ceviches to start and the most delicious tempura langoustine filled with mozzarella and sea food. A must have! (You can order this... More

We went to dinner last night at Salou after recommendations on Trip Advisor. We should have realized that something was different as there were only seven people in the restaurant the whole time we were there. We started with the Japanese mayo prawns and the octopus with grits. The prawns were fresh and firm but drowned in a tabasco-mayonnaise with... More
