Salou was a great surprise in that it was recommended by some local friends. The location is in the old city and the restaurant makes you feel that you are back in the historical days. Chef Juan Manuel Restrep is a culinary expert with tapas type dished. His civiches are exceptional.Ask for a sampling of 3 kinds of civic he.The... More

Omg... go there and get this now! It's big enough to have as an entree, the flavors are amazing, and the the price (at $33.000COP) is reasonable. So delicious! The rice pudding dessert was also excellent although the bottle of water at the cost of a beer was highly overpriced.

They open at 7PM buy let us in 5 minutes before that. We watched the place fill up within an hour but the tables are spread out so you have personal space The food and wine were excellent, service precisely attentive but not fawning. The cost of the meal for three including the gratuity, wine and water was under $200.... More

First of all, the food here is excellent, we had: trio of ceviches, tataki tuna, and langostinos rejollas. service was also friendly and attentive. I would go back without hesitation. However, the menus need consolidating and reviewing: we had 4 menus in different and confusing formats: - beer menu for BBC (no prices, different format) - wine menu on ipad... More

I got here at 6:15 pm, a cool 45 minutes early but needed to have staff tell me the hours because not stated on the door. Had poor wine at restaurant/ wine bar next door. But, I was so happy with the food quality at Salou that I have to recommend this restaurant as a MUST visit in Cartagena. It... More

I chose Salou for our rehearsal dinner for 45 people. Juan and his staff were incredibly accommodating to our needs and provided excellent service. Our guests raved about the outstanding food and the great atmosphere. I highly recommend Salou for events, or simply for an excellent meal.

Everything was good and the service was impeccable. Highly recommend it! The desserts were one of the highlights. We had a melt in your mouth flan and brownie. The main dishes were also outstanding.

Food was exquisite, service was amazing and ambiance also really nice, I recommend el "trio de ceviches". Main courses are a bit pricey (around COP 50000), but ok for Cartagena.

Title sums up our experience… good food, nice vibe… (Need… more… characters…) We sat in the window sill with the baby while the grandparents drank themselves silly.

Looks like nothing from the outside, just the sort of place you want to find when out exploring. Stopped by mid-afternoon and they still had the full menu available so we ordered the ribs, Lomo Cuzco and tuna. Prices were average for Colombia ($26 per meat dish) but the quality was fantastic. We would also recommend the arroz con coco!
