I came back to Don Juan for a special family diiner, and everyone on my group was delighted. The service, food and ambiance was great. Definitively will keep coming back. If you want to go, you'll have to make a reservation.

My girlfriend and I ate here the first night of our trip and loved it. We opted for splitting five appetizers between the two of us instead of doing main courses, and it turned out great. The shrimp cooked with passion fruit cream and the octopus with olive oil were standouts; the crab claws and lobster tail were solid; and... More

Great food here. We tried the falafel appetizer, a meat appetizer over stringy potatoes, fish, more meat, etc. We enjoyed the atmosphere and food, but the servers could have been a bit nicer, more engaging, etc. It was if he couldn't be bothered. Didn't ruin the night, but something we took notice of.

We had a wonderful meal here. The restaurant is in a nice part of the old city. The wine list is the most reasonable value for money we have seen anywhere in Cartagena. It is reasonable broad and beats the tourist traps by 25% or more. The food was simply spectacular. I had the ox tail which was beautifully cooked... More

We had an amazing dinner at this restaurant on the second night of our honeymoon! Service was impeccable! They were super nice and patient (we are super slow eaters) !! It was wonderful!

I ordered the crab claws in hot garlic oil for bread dipping (excellent), shrimp and langostines. Langostines for me was perfectly ideal because I like that blackened look and taste (being from Louisiana). Group included the octopus, jamon Serrano, chocolate soufflé, flan, among other selections. I don't understand why a fine restaurant would choose Serrano over Negra... that should change... More

I passed this place several times during my stay in Cartagena and thought to myself just another pretty restaurant with maybe so-so food. So I popped in during lunch and had the sea bass--oMG. Being the daring person I am I decided to give the margarita de chocolate I try also. Yeah, it wasn't what I expected -- but then... More

On a recent trip to Cartagena, I was privileged to be included in a small group invited to dinner at Don Juan by a publication hosting a meeting in this historic city. Don Juan is situated in the charming, atmospheric old city . We were greeted and served with smiles. Although few wait staff speak English, this was not in... More

This is a really nice restaurant, it is pricey, but it goes accordingly with the food. Taste, ingridients, presention, service... everything great. I definitely recommend this splurge.
