This small and charming restaurant is located in the old city of Cartagena, Colombia. The menu is based on creole cuisine which is typical caribbean style fused with classic french cuisine; with fish as its main ingredient accompanied with coconut milk, plantains and many other local ingredients. The best dish I've had here is the lobster "Brigitte", it is simply... More

I have visited Onde Olano in the past. This experience was even better through the services of Hember (I believe that's how you spell the name). He was extremely friendly and accommodating of my mother's diet needs - always with a smile and can-do attitude. The food as always is excellent and fresh. Be careful: the bread is fantastic and... Olano´s place serves good food, the service is okay, but unfortunately the restaurant does not count on sufficient guests to make it pleasant (unless you like close quarters). When it fills up the air conditioner (a necessary evil considering the humidity and heat of Cartagena) is not enough, and it adds to the discomfort. Perhaps when there are few customers... More

My husband and I went to this restaurant tonight, and it was unbelievably terrible. A complete tourist trap - please don't believe the people who say it's worth coming here, you've got to be out of your mind to "keep coming back." It's basically hospital food. The salad was iceberg lettuce and the lasagna looked like it had been run... More

Unpretentious little restaurant near Plaza Santo Domingo. This must be the best onion soup and steak i've ever had in Cartagena. Kind service always with a smile, you feel at home but much better. This is my favorite restaurant in the city.

We had searched out this restaurant after one of the owners had helped us navigate the baffling streets in Cartagena on our first day. The atmosphere is delightfully Old World cafe (the owners are French) and our dishes (I had a delicious red snapper filet with a spicy tomato sauce with nice (unfried) potatoes and vegetables (rare for Columbian restaurants).... This place embodies Old Town, the setting is quaint, the atmosphere is cozy, the staff and owners are very personable and the food is very delicious and unique. The chicken Mediterranean was very tasty and the ceviche was divine.

I remembered going to Olano's around 10 years ago, so during my current visit to Cartagena I just had to go back. It took me a while to find it (google maps has it 2 blocks away, but I asked people on the street and made it just fine), but once I did it was worth the walk. It's a... More
