If you are a fan of literature then this is the place to go. Garcia Marquis, One Hundred Years of Solitude won the Nobel prize. The food is good also.
A medium size restaurant with live music, we just had wine so cannot comment on the food. We arrived to late to eat something since the kitchen closes at 10PM. The area where it is located used to be a good one but is not the best nowadays.
Such a fun visit to La Cueva, hangout for Gabriel Garcia-Marquez and many of his lierary/artistic group. Food is fine, atmosphere is wonderful. I am so glad I went.
I really liked this restaurant. I don't know if it is only on Saturday nights but they had a live salsa band which was cool. The service was decent and the food was fantastic. it's a very nice place where you can eat and have a nice time learning about the place where the main writers of north coast of Colombia gathered. Nice food
entertaining, different and at a good price. Appetizers to share and cocktails for all tastes, good music too!
Ask the waiter to show you the video of Gabriel García Marquez and show you the especial pictures with Rafael Escalona they have; life shows on friday's, you will find more people after 8 PM.
We've been to La Cueva a few times in the past couple of years. We take friends visiting from overseas - it's a lovely old place with a great past. Such a shame that they don't do more with it... the food is pretty bad, the band plays only at the weekend and only for a very short time, lighting... More
This is one of the places that definitely if you're in Barranquilla, you have to go! It's a really nice restaurant with a awesome background, actually inside there is a small room where you can whatch a short movie about its history. I recommend to order: Picada La Marinera (for 2 or 3 people) Cocktail Mangarita (Margarita made with mango)
La Cueva is famous for its association with Colombian writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez, artist Alejandro Obregon, and others who met here to discuss their work and events. Photos of them, their artwork, and books decorate the dining room and bar. The food and presentation was very nice as was the service. I was traveling with a university group so we... More
