Authentically Expensive

Mamma Mia provides an authentic Italian dining experience, at a cost. The pizzas are small, have few toppings and cost over 100rmb each. They do taste good, however. Drinks including wine and beer are Italian imports and again stretch the wallet. One of the better Italian restaurants in Suzhou.

The staff at Mammamia had several members that spoke good English. Our beer was cold, and served (including refills) promptly. The large wood-fired oven cooked our pies in very quick order. My pizza was exceptional in flavor and the quality of the ingredients. Where an improvement could've been made is in the execution of the middle crust. So thin was... More

The service at Mammamia's has been terrible everytime we have gone, and the food is just average at best. I would not waste your time or money here again. Try the Xing Hai square metro stop instead. There is a cheaper Italian place there that is much better value.

Most of the food in Suzhou sucks the bag so this place seems a lot better then it is. It is very overpriced, the food is just ok but the service is good so that's a plus.

Great location.... kind of isolated but a walk along the lake after a good meal definitely makes an evening.

Service is slow. Food is average nothing exciting. We ordered a pizza and their pizza is paper thin. They do have a nice list of Italian wines.

My wife and I joined some friends for an evening of what I expected would be conversation and a few cocktails, but the owner of the restaurant wanted me to try the dishes from his native part of Italy... My god the food was just fantastic, incredible flavor... not in Italy did I experience these kinds of flavors and styles... More

Amazing wood pizza oven, authentic Italian cuisine in a simple setting. Good location on the lake. A must if you want a taste from home.

Excellent food and service at affordable prices! Great choice of traditional Italian meals, wines and pizza. Location also really nice, close to the park for a little stroll after a big meal! Definitely recommend it for families as well as couples!
