Great place and popular with the locals so it is best to book in advance as it is often full. If you are staying in town and only have one night definitely eat here.
We had lunch and dinner at this lovely place. The menu is not that big, but everybody finds something to eat. The food was really good and tasty and the waiting time was fair, at least you know that the food is freshly prepared. The atmosphere is quite unique, it looks a bit like a hippie place and feels comfortable.... More
A quaint little restaurant. Our hotel recommended this restaurant as one which serves authentic Chilean food, and that is what we found. Service was great, food was delicious, and quite a lot of variety for a small restaurant. The place looks a bit quirky, but that is what makes ir special. Also have some books for sale which are cheaper... More
My wife and I had two hours to kill in Punta Arenas before our flight to Santiago and wanted somewhere for lunch that would serve decent food and give local atmosphere. Our guide recommended La Marmita and we were delighted with what we found. The food was simple, straightforward and local with the highlight being lamb stew which had been... More
After reading many trip advisor reviews we went to this restaurant twice while in Punta Arenas. The service was very good and the food tasty. The menu is very unique. Worth the visit.
We ate at La Marmita the evening we left Chile! It was a wonderful send off. Great atmosphere and the staff was very friendly. It was great to get traditional Chilean cuisine on our way out of town!
I went here at lunchtime and tried the fettuccine a la puttanesca, of the 5000 CLP menu, accompanied by a pisco sour. :-) Service was quick and friendly. My food was good, but not excepcional, I guess that comes with a fixed price menu. Overall a nice experience in a cosy restaurant, a 10m walk distant from the main square.
We loved this restaurant so much that we ate here four times in two days! My husband and I are both crab lovers and La Marmita has a crab dish that is to die for. They are incredibly generous with the portion of crab that is served, it is enough for two people to share. We had dinner here on... More
You can't miss La Marmita because its colorful character and design draws you in. Once inside they have very nice artsy design, a fun bar and excellent food. Try the calafate sour and it will set you on a culinary trip you'll hardly forget. If you can, make reservations because it can get crowded and, believe me, you don't want... More
I am glad we had a meal here because it was delicious! Everything from the entree to the main to the dessert was fantastic, we were licking our plates clean (not literally of course!). The service was also great, and just the whole feel of the place was warm and inviting.
