El Asador Patagonica highlights the dilemma of the reviewer far from home. If it were in London I would probably only give it three stars. Here at the bottom end of South America four stars seems right. Why? Well, food OK, ambience OK, service good enough, but chiefly because, hey Mum, here I am in Patagonia. I've travelled x thousand... More

After arriving quite late in Puerto Natales we by chance ended up here. Located in the central square the restaurant is fairly rustic, as most of Puerto Natales is. The food was excellent, we all had the local lamb which was roasting in the corner of the restaurant. Great introduction to the local food.

The food was very good, but everything is ala carte and not inexpensive. The atmosphere is nice with the open pit fire where the night's lamb is roasted. The menu has English descriptions, but the staff didn't speak English.

You go to this kind of restaurant for the meat and that's what you get. The place looks nice. The service is the usual " we work in a touristic area so we've seen it all" type. We'd heard about re-heated meat, we didn't get it. Cooked to perfection.

I went there for dinner on a weekday during high season The restaurant was partly full. I wanted "cordero a la parrilla" but the waitress said it wasn't available. So I got "cordero al palo" although the stove where they cook it was empty. When they served me the dish, the meat was clearly reheated. For my surprise, two customers... More

I went with my family a cold night and found this place completely crowded, as of, we barely could open the door. We never got to taste the food, because while we were trying to enter, the staff were really rude, because they thought we were leaving the door open, when in fact, we were just trying to enter the... We were in PN in April so it was less busy than normal, and several places were winding down. In this place I had the grilled lamb and my wife had the beef and both were incredible. We had the meat with sides of grilled potato slices and stir fried veg, washed down with a good value bottle of red.... More

Conveniently located at the side of the main square, over the course of a month we went there three times. Just couldn't get the same meal twice. Their signature dish has to be the lamb, which was either perfect food, or so chewy it was inedible. Trying the pork proved difficult as the taste was definitely tainted and the staff... More

This is a typical parilla-style restaurant with the wood-burning b.b.q in the corner and meats sizzling over it. The portions are big, one between 2 with a salad (choose your own ingredients, all fresh and tasty) would be enough, especially as they bring you delicious home-made bread rings and 2 dips whilst your making your choice. The choice of wines... More

we thought that was more expensive, but is like others, around 20 dolars the cordero al palo (lamb), i asked for salmon and had almost the full fish. :) Is small but cozy, very hot better to not seat next to the fire or the door. Good pisco sour. The bad is that they have around 5 main dishes, but... More
