We created Il Forno in 2011 after many years dreaming of opening a traditional Italian Restaurant outside Italy where we would serve authentic Italian food like our grandmothers used to cook. The only addition to our grandmother's kitchen was the building of an original stone brick fire wood oven from where to make pizzas according to the southern italian tradition. We pride to import every single ingredient ( veggie & fruits aside)on our menu directly from Italy and to make all our food home made and fresh daily. Our fantastic team of chefs/cooks start their day very early to prepare our pizza dough that need 10/12 hours before its naturally risen and to prepare home made tagliatelle, tortellini , gnocchi and so on , exactly like we used to in Italy half a century ago.

Disappointing

After having great Italian while in Thailand and reading so many good reviews, we thought we'd give il forno a try. we had diner there. had reservations but had to wait a few minutes for our table to be ready. place is very very busy! lots of families, lots of children, and it is difficult to have a conversation food is ok. I had gnocchi that were tasty but a bit overcooked. Pizzas seemed to please my kids, and one pasta... More

My family of Italian food experts all rated this restaurant highly. My spouses house special appetizer dish contained every one of her favorite foods (gnocchi, eggplant, mozzarella) and she was thrilled. My daughter always orders spaghetti carbonara (and she has eaten some of the best) was really satisfied. My son was happy his Margherita pizza didn't have squid in it!... More

I went the due to the trip advisor reviews. The place is really good and the food is tasty as well. I didn't like the pizza that much because it was to crispy (personal preference) but I have to admit that the ingredients were fresh and delicious. Many couples and people went there but due to lack of reservation had... More

Nestled in a cozy alley way, il forno offers a delectable selection of authentic Italian dishes. The staff were exceedingly friendly and our meals and drinks were most excellent.

This place was a great experience, and the food was delicious! Unfortunately as other reviews have suggested, it is extremely busy, with a lot of families ordering pizza and soft drinks, and the place has a very disorganized feel to it. Waiters are brash and rush around like headless chickens. They do not confirm your order back to you, which... More

Unfortunately we attended this restaurant when the tourist children were out of school, and the restaurant was extremely packed with young families ordering pizzas and pop. We were probably the only ones that ordered a main and a bottle of wine. The place was totally dis-organized and service was very slow, but there is potential - the food was marvellous.... More

What a wonderful place. We had eaten at another Italian restaurant in the area which was ordinary, with the food arriving cold and inedible. So having checked out where Il Forno was earlier we decided to head over there. What a difference. It's in a little side alley off Pub Street and feels just like an Italian bistro in Europe.We... Nothing ostentatious and quite hard to find, tucked down a laneway off Pub St. When you do get there you'll find thin crust pizza which is simply yummy. Go for it.

Had great pizza here, best I can remember since Italy. The service was friendly and prices not that expensive given the quality. Highly recommended.
