Description: We created Il Forno in 2011 after many years dreaming of opening a traditional Italian Restaurant outside Italy where we would serve authentic Italian food like our grandmothers used to cook. The only addition to our grandmother's kitchen was the building of an original stone brick fire wood oven from where to make pizzas according to the southern italian tradition. We pride to import every single ingredient ( veggie & fruits aside)on our menu directly from Italy and to make all our food home made and fresh daily. Our fantastic team of chefs/cooks start their day very early to prepare our pizza dough that need 10/12 hours before its naturally risen and to prepare home made tagliatelle, tortellini , gnocchi and so on , exactly like we used to in Italy half a century ago.

I came here in a rush prior to an appointment at the Phare circus. They were not only able to accommodate me but were able to get my meal to me in time, knowing I was in a rush. The pesto was world class, asking the best I've had anywhere in Italy. Fragrant, with an extra hit of cheese that... More

I had dinner here twice during my short stay in Siem Reap and was delighted both times. I didn't try their pizzas (although they looked better than anything I saw in neighbouring pizzarias) but they have a great selection of pasta and meat dishes. Try their specials. I loved the Tuscan roast pork. Good choice of wine and beers. Service... More

We stopped by here after trying to visit Mamma Shop (it was fully booked) and although the pizza was ok, everything else from the awful music to the size of the 'bruschetta' was disappointing. If I was comparing this place to an equivalent restaurant in the UK then this would surely be the Zizzi of Siem Reap. If you want... More

The gnocci was amazing, bruschetta was great. The steak while being Australian, was well cooked, and presented in a Italian style. The wine recommended to compliment our meals was a perfect balance. Even though the restaurant was completely full. The staff were great very attentive without being overbearing. Ive lived here 3 years, and wish I'd visited earlier. We will... More

I don't know how this place is only #46...lovely setting, friendly owners and staff and amazing food. Authentic, light and crispy pizzas, homemade pastas and great wine. Ate there twice in 3 days! You might need to book ahead-saw some reserved signs on tables. A must visit!

I love local Asian cuisie as much as the next person when travelling around Asia. However, after a while you long for a pizza and a bottle of red just like at home......and iL forno delivers. il Forno has fantastic pizza. As good as any i've had in the UK or Italy. Great ingredients, well cooked. We kept coming back,... More

I visited Il Forno in December 2014 with a group of 17 and had a lovely time. Il Forno was one of the only restaurants I visited where they had waiters/waitresses who spoke good English and were able to understand a group of tourists. The restaurant is located in a small lane off the main road and the restaurant was... More

Excellent italian food in Siem Reap. We had two thin crust pizzas and a tagliatelle with porcini and sausage that were all very authentic. Thin crust Napoli pizza crust very well executed, and the pasta was perfectly al dente with good sauce. Nice break from 3 meals a day of Asian food. A little spendy compared to Cambodia food places.

Il Forno was absolutely amazing. Some of the best Italian food I've had, and that includes comparisons to numerous meals in Italy. Wonderful service, great value, and really superb food. The owner was really in the thick of service and consistently checked on tables to ensure service was up to par. Waitstaff were attentive and accurate in placing our orders.

We ate here a couple of times. We enjoyed the food and the busy feel of this small laneway restaurant. The portions are not huge but you don't leave hungry. The food was quick at the busy times we went. You need to call for a waiter at times for drinks but that is ok. The owner stands out the... More
