Dinner

Nice fresh flavors. I really enjoyed the chicken livers. Prices were reasonable and nice size dishes. The staff was very pleasant and friendly.

Wow! Best restaurant we went to (of many) in Siem Reap, beautiful setting in ancient house style, superb food and service at reasonable price. Nice bar area as well. Thoroughly recommend.

Brilliant dining on the terrace. Staff is friendly and attentive. The food is fresh and a real treat. The fish amok is a highlight. Prices are reasonable (3 persons about US$ 70, incl wine). Enjoyed it so much we returned again!

Went based on a friends suggestion. Usually don't hang out in that part of town but figured I'd give it a try with an Aussie and Khmer friend. As Siem Reap gets more and more established as a food destination as well as Angkor Wat., new places open almost weekly with International cuisine. The more established places, like Sugar Palm,... It was pretty obvious they thought they thought they didn't have to try! Food tasty but actually no better than we've had in other restaurants in Siam Reap. The service was perfunctory. We were never made to feel welcome. Certainly not service with a smile! How different to the other places where service has been excellent. We would have liked... More

I'm not sure what all the fuzz is about regarding this restaurant. First of all the waiters were polite, but didn't smile and were more towards unfriendly. Maybe they have been told to behave like this? First time I've experienced this in Cambodia. They were efficient however. I had the fish amok which I had heard was the best at... More

The Food is as absolutely amazing. I recommend the Pomelo Salad, Chicken Liver and Ginger, and Fish Amok. Service was great and wine/selection was decent. It's a great space for authentic cuisine, especially if you're nervous about going more local. Safe, delicious, well crafted dishes in a relaxed and casual environment.

We visited The Sugar Palm on a whim one rainy evening, despite its menu looking interesting-but-nothing-amazing. Well, it turns out that the menu dramatically undersells the brilliant food here. Descriptions which seem average on the menu are actually amazing dishes - the fish amok was a proper steamed amok, and is the best we've had in Siem Reap so far.... More

We started with a green mango and dried fish salad. Beautiful balance of sour and salty, wet and crunchy. The prawn amok was a rich custardy coconut milk curry, silky and full-flavored. And the squid with green kampot peppercorns was interesting and delicious: tender squit and stems full of green peppercorns which released a burst of pungent aromatic pepperiness when... More
