Very high quality good food. Have other Japanese cusine besides sushi and it is all very delicious. Also a great atmosphere and location in the middle of Allendale

Sushi was fresh and delicious. A little pricey for a local sushi place. Having said that, I had sushi at a very expensive place in NYC a few nights later and it was no better than Masa.

This is the best Japanese in northern NJ. It gets busy but everything is good. There is a good mix of locals and Japanese businessman meeting up after work. It feels authentic!

Yeah, it gets crowded on weekends, sometimes even during the week. There's a reason why. The food is consistently first rate: the fish is fresh and well cut, and the monthly specials so inventive and delicious. We try every item on the special menu every month and are never disappointed. Masa could do very well in Manhattan, but we're lucky... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident and will definitely come back, in particular, for the delicious Washington State Oysters! They are truly the best that any of us had ever eaten. Best to call them first to make sure that the Oysters are in stock, as they are a special item on the menu.

I may have made a bad choice, but the roll I bought was so large that it was twice the size of normal Futomaki. When I asked the sushi chef how people usually eat it, he said you have to cut it. Cutting sushi is not a normal task. Others around had smaller rolls and seemed to really enjoy themselves.... More

One of those places so close to home, and still don't get there often enough. No trendy fusion nonsense here. I wish they were open for breakfast, I would kill for grilled squid first thing in the morning. Never a disappointing dish, and you don't need a 2nd mortgage to take care of the check.

We have been to several Japanese restaurants around the area and were not particularly impressed with Masa. We had to wait for over 15 minutes before we were served. Notice how I did not preface with "hot", because it was not. We specifically had to ask for hotter water for our tea. Also, there were at least 4 sushi chefs... More
