Everybody seems to be speaking about the livingstone restaurant in Cotonou. I went there on my first night in Cotonou and I found the food just ok, but nothing special…. A few days later, after some other colleagues joined us, they insist to go to the Livingstone…. And again: food just ok and it was not just me: everybody in... More

One thing that I hate no matter how good the food could be is to be treated like a stupid, dumb white expat/tourist in Africa! I live in Africa and know what is acceptable and what is not and therefore when I went to this highly recommended restaurant in Cotonou I expected good food and service. Instead I got less... More

Their pizza and hamburgers are good, but on the average level, not exceptional. Once I had also a local dish that was fine. Prices are on the average of the street prices (Le Haie Vive).

If you visit Cotonou, you can pretty much guarantee you'll eat at Livingstone at least once. They have a pretty extensive menu. It can be hit or miss, though. The dishes they do well, they do really well and the ones they don't...well, they don't. The pizza is generally good. The wait time for your meal is always long and... More

I visited on a Saturday and it was lively, friendly and welcoming. Predominantly a beer and pizza place for expats, I had brochettes and rice (which was good) but service was on the slow side 30+ minutes from order and I had to ask a number of time. There is football on live screens and a breezy terrace.

I went here for lunch with an expat living in Cotonou. The restaurant is in a neighborhood where lots of expats live and there are many restaurants on the same street. Their specialty seems to be pizza, which looked fine, but I didn't feel like pizza so I had a steak au poivre with a cream sauce. The steak was... More
