Went out to dinner with friends/colleagues and it was fantastic. The owner (or maybe manager?) came out and explained dishes, made recommendations and talked with us, in English for those who didn't speak French. The food came out and it was plentiful - we got multiple appetizers to share and then our own main meal - and the cost was... More

Our dinner at Shamiana was a good experience. The food is delicious, you can choose how spicy it will be, the service is very good and the owner is really courteus. We'll be back!

Well, they serve Indian food which you'll surely love. Foods are spicy (of course, but you can customize the spice hot on a scale from 5-10...10 will just burn you!). Almost all authentic Indian foods are available here. A bit pricey compared to other local restaurant.

I stayed in Cotonou for a month and made the 'rounds to numerous restaurants in this part of town and always looked forward to making it back here. This is my favorite restaurant in town, and an Indian colleague tells me that this is some of the best Indian food anywhere outside of India. The management speaks good English and... More

We went here based on Tripadvisor reviews, despite only having two of them. This was indeed very nice and tasty indian food. Not too spicy for myself either - but they were so nice to warn before ordering! We had chicken tikka masala and a few other dishes, incl salads. Salad was fresh and looked appetizing. The meat was very... More

Who would have thought you could get excellent Indian food in Benin? Well, you can. An added perk is that the staff speak English, so this is a nice place when you need a break from French. Service is excellent all around. My only complaint is that you pay separately for rice, which drives up the prices quite a bit.... More
