We dined at the Common Man on July 3rd, 2014. My wife, two kids, in-laws & myself had a reservation. We started with the lobster sliders, steamed mussels and lobster wontons for appetizers. All were done very well. For dinners we had kids hamburgers, lobster mac n cheese, steamed tofu and captains platters. Everyone was happy with their choices. Smuttynose... More

I'm from SF which has some of the best restaurants in the world, and the Common Man would hold its own among them. When I'm at home, I dream about the bread pudding, and it's one of the first places I head for when I get here! The spa in Plymouth is great, too!

Group of eight. Sat us right away and service was perfect. Restaurant is nice, upstairs bar is a comfy fun setting. We ate downstairs first then went up to the bar after. My only complaint is the food is awful! Both my wife and I got the braised short ribs. Honestly I think A frozen rib microwave dinner would have... More

Ashland NH is not an area I would say has many good dining choices and this may be the best. It is the original Common Man in what is now a small chain. Very nice ambience, upstairs and downstairs, with a bit of a rustic feel. Sat upstairs near the bar while watching a World Cup game. Decent menu choices... More

We were led here by being #1 in TA, a listing well deserved. Upstairs and down, it has a very comfortable feel. The food is delicious, and plentiful enough for those with senior citizen appetites to have a secon meal. The free cheese, buth upsatirs and down is a nice touch. The staff is friendly and attentive. I very nice... More

I love eating upstairs, casual seating .. couches, easy chairs, TV's bar/pub atmosphere. Serve yourself cheese and crackers, unique menu .. picky eaters, probably not your place, selections change with the season and all I've tried are delicious!

We had seafood.. Baked Scallops for me and the Portsmouth Pie for my husband. We were both very happy with our meals and would definitely return.

Well, I must say, you get a lot for your money at Common Man. I'd challenge just about anyone to finish their plate here. We had half portions, and they were adequate! And the cheese and crackers were fun--nice to have something to munch on while waiting for your meal to be served. It was unusually cold in the restaurant,... More

I came here with my parents here for lunch on a Saturday. You could smell the wood stove burning from outside. What a nice start. In the entry and lobby area there are vintage magazines and signage for sale like in most of their restaurants. I love looking through these. We were seated promptly. Our waitress went over the lunch... More
