We have been coming here for over 30 years while on vacation in Ashland and always enjoy our meal at The Common Man. The Common Man has many other restaurants, but this is where it all started. They have a cracker & cheese bar you can help yourself to. Also you are served a basket of different breads. We all... More

I had the fish and chips. My order arrived with, literally an 8 " slab of fish hard fried on a bed of French fries. Also on top of a bed of lettuce was very tasty cole slaw and a side of tartar sauce. I found the giant piece of crusty fish to be very unwieldy and difficult to cut... More

We've been here several times over the years. Never a bad meal and the service has always been top notch. Their Company Store is right across the street.

The upstairs lounge is a great place to relax, sit on a couch, drink wine and spend time wit friends.

This Common Man has a truly unique atmosphere from the other Common Man's, bypass the hostest and go upstairs to what is technically the bar but so much more with cozy living room style seating and an exceptional wait staff. Did I mention a fireplace? And an outdoor patio for the warmer season. As with all Common Man's there is... More

If you haven't experienced the "Common Man" restaurants yet this is the original. Very good food at wallet friendly prices. One of the hallmarks of this restaurant group is "all the cheese and crackers you can munch on". This is a childhood memory for me - eating out with my parents when I was a youngster at places like the... More

Great meal. Definitely eat upstairs. There is a local flair. I had the bison meatloaf and my husband had the seafood pie. We ended dinner with drinks by fire.

We've been going to the Common Man for over 20 years. It used to be consistently good. No more. Last time we went was so-so, this time downright poor. The lobster corn chowder was really good, but that was it. Everything else okay to bad. One of our party had the shortribs and they were pretty much inedible; others found... More

Very nice place. Very New England type atmosphere. The service was prompt with a very pleasant and courteous waitress. The Chowders were very good as was the food as a whole. The menu was also an example of New England food and service. Prices were very reasonable. Will eat there again my next trip to New Hampshire.
