This location is the original restaurant in the cm family. Arrived for lunch and were seated immediately and beverage order taken. The menu offered soup and sandwich options, burgers, fish and healthy options. We ordered burgers and found them cooked to order. Topped it off with dessert (large portion to share). Very reasonably priced. Of all the cm locations this... More

This looks like an old New England Inn (and may well be one), with a dining area on the first floor and a less formal area above. The lunch menu is a bit more limited than their dinner, but both the interesting choices and the food quality are great. We got seated quickly and our waiter came within a couple... More

My dad recommended Common Man years ago and he was right. We usually have lunch, dinner or just cocktails and apps at least once during our visits to the area. We go to the one in Ashland, cozy atmosphere, great service and always good food!

While on an extended business trip to this area last December, I had the pleasure of eating at the Common man five (5) times, which must tell you that I think it is real good. Everything on the [constantly changing] menu is very good, but i particularly liked the Newport Seafood Pie and the steamed mussels with bacon bits! This... More

The Common Man in Ashland has been around as long as most vacationers to this area remember. The chalk board on the street usually has some funny welcome like "Get on in here" and the barn board walls and intimate seating are creatively adorned...making you feel immediately at home and as if you have discovered a real treasure. The food... More

I have gone to the Common Man restaurants since the 1970s. The Ashland C'Man used to be a favorite place for my friends and me to meet up. The food used to be consistently good and the service was stellar. In the last two years, I have had two of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had.The wait-server we... More

We have been coming here for over 30 years while on vacation in Ashland and always enjoy our meal at The Common Man. The Common Man has many other restaurants, but this is where it all started. They have a cracker & cheese bar you can help yourself to. Also you are served a basket of different breads. We all... More
