We were married in the area and hosted our rehearsal dinner here the evening before. We stopped by many months beforehand to see their atmosphere, try their food, and knew it was what we were looking for. They are willing to close the restaurant to the public up to a maximum of once per calendar month for private events. They... More

We had a 7:30 reservation. It was a bit awkward when we arrived as there was no hostess to seat us. We just walked in and noticed a table with our names on it. Fabulous wine and beer selection! Wonderful food. Had live music. Not too loud, good mix of tunes. Will definitely go back.

Love this place! Friendly staff, especially "Vic the bar wench (trust me she likes the title!!!"). Cool art work on display for sale too. Very welcoming and great desserts! Just off Broadway (the main downtown drag) 1/2 block on 6th ave.

A nice place to meet your wife and/or friends and enjoy a very good assortment of fine wines. Not that this will rival the "fancy big city" wine bars, but they do a very good job of offering an excellent assortment of many good wines. They also have a great assortment of bottled beer, domestic and imported. Always a nice... More

What a wonderful little surprise to find this finely decorated, intimate, wine and ale bar just off of the main drag in small-town, central Minnesota. The atmosphere was pleasant, upscale and comfortable-- even if our wait-staff was a little curmudgeonly. (I do prefer a little more complex personality) It has quite an impressive array of beer and wine--comparable to the... More

Like I said -- if you're going here for a cheap meal -- you're in the wrong place...the food (appetizer sampler) was good, however, just comes at a high price. Awesome atmosphere, often have artists come in for live music -- great food, but super expensive. If you're into craft beers -- by far the best selection I've found in... More

Atmosphere was pleasant. Food portions were small and overpriced. Server was very knowledgeable of wines. Good place to go and socialize over a glass of wine but not for a nice meal

This small out of the way bar is great even if your out o towners Thursday night is entertainment night .Other nights might have unscheduled entertainment if musicians happen to show up This is like CHEERS after one visit everyone remembers you. Great selection of wines and large selection of beers and ales from standard brands to small craft brewers... More

I sat at the bar alone and the service was attentive, but not overwhelming. The pork tenderloin was great and the wine just fine (not a huge selection, a lot of middle of the road approachable stuff). They had a good selection of bottled brews, but only two on tap. I told all of my colleagues to try this place... More

When the core of city business in a still vibrant "historical downtown" comes to a close - those with a desire for a place for convivial conversation goes beyond blaring sports TVs -- There is SAWA. A respite to enjoy a glass of better quality wine at moderate prices. ... and in comfortable chairs or fashionable high boys. Boy oh... More
