Except for the margaritas, this place will be hugely dissapointing for anyone with actual knowledge of tex/mex food. The salsa often tastes off (as in spoiled) and the food is dreadful. I live in Ann Arbor, and this is acknowledged to be one of the worst places in town, hands down .

The Prickly Pear offers gourmet Southwestern Cuisine with a twist. Enchiladas stuffed with sweet potato or crab are to die for! Their house margaritas and the home made chips and salsa (always a barometer for "Mexican" restaurants") are exceptionally good! Everything is cooked fresh to order and delicious! A bit pricy but well worth a splurge!

Southwest cuisine, great fish, chicken and outstanding scallops. Hands down the best salsa I have ever had, fresh tomatoes, just the right zing of spice. Very reliable, good food, good service. Nice selection of Tequila as well.

My family and I really enjoy this restaurant. The food is a cut above most other casual southwestern places, and some of it is really excellent. The dining area is fairly small and can get very crowded. Seats near the door are hampered by drafts from the continual opening and closing. The Golden Margaritas are a bit too sweet, but... More

We waited a very long time to get our table (2 hours) but didn't mind as we were having drinks at another wine bar on Main Street. The food was superb - I had the buffalo enchiladas which were awesome and everyone else (party of 7) thouroughly enjoyed their meals - absolutely worth the wait! The margerita pitchers were also... fun place to get cheaper food for Ann Arbor. Really busy on weekend nights, staff sometimes gets short probably because they are so busy, but food is good and it is a fun time, will go again
