I grew up with Polish and Russian cooking and enjoy Amadeus's cuisine more. I've had excellent borscht, pierogis and kielbasa there as well as good goulash and chicken paprikash. It's a charming, relaxed place with friendly service, charming decor. One disappointment: the desserts are not Central European, but bland. I just overpaid for a very salty cucumber soup and a very stingy Polish platter with one pierog, a tea spoon of bigos with no meat in it, a tasteless golabek and a semi-decent piece of kielbasa. The food tastes home-made, like someone's grandmother is cooking in the back kitchen, making some food for family friends just in from out of town. The dill pickle soup is to die for. The perogi's are my pick. Have them pan fried and get all 5 types (sweet cheese, meat, mushroom, potato and sauerkraut) more

Had a wonderful lunch. The owner of the cafe stopped by our table for a nice visit, too. Great dessert selection. more
