Consistently good breakfast in a diner setting

Husband and I have eaten here three (3) times now, and the food and services have remained consistently very good throughout. We are early risers, and given the fact that this place is small, we've arrived before 8 AM on Saturday mornings. We were seated at a booth immediately, but it did begin... read more

I go to Angelo's for one reason, the deep fried french toast. I don't know where else to get it and it is always delicious. However, I look around at other meals going by and think "oh that looks good and that looks good too". If ordering the DFFT I suggest asking for all the toppings on the side. Especially... More

After years of avoiding this place due to tight location in University district and absolutely NO PARKING nearby, I was convinced by a colleague to give it a try since we could park in UM blue lot across the street. We pulled into the parking structure to see a "Full" sign. Amazingly, we entered anyway and found two empty parking... More

I stopped here with a co-worker while in town. He highly recommended it & always gets the corned beef hash. We were there for lunch but since they serve breakfast all day, we decided on that. I ordered the deep fried French toast and wow, I was not disappointed! It was gigantic and very delicious! Needless to say, I couldn't... More

Dick Siegel wrote those lyrics about this Ann Arbor mainstay. Fabulous raisin French toast, friendly, always fresh. Try to go during the week. If you need to go on a weekend, take a newspaper as you will be standing in line for quite awhile. Even then, it's well worth it. Although I can't stay away from their breakfast offerings, other... Go to Angelo's if you want to be yelled at by an incredibly rude hostess. Beautiful day to wait outside if it wasn't for the harrassment over the PA speaker. She managed to call 4 time for a party that was quite literally 10 feet from the door. Prepare to sprint when your name is called or face her wrath.... More

The service is quite good here. The omelettes are well sized and well prepared. But nothing really special. The raisin bread we found to be about average. Some of the pieces we got were a tad burnt. It's a nice place somewhat on the edge of the central campus of the University of Michigan. While many reviewers rave about the... More

Apparently, there are always long lines at Angelo's. By coincidence, we landed on Spring Break so had only a short wait for....breakfast perfection, and then some. Visiting from out of town, we'd asked local friends for recs, and Angelo's topped a few lists...Duh. We made it there three times in our five days in AA. MAGNIFICENT breads, BEST CB Hash... More

Been here several times and it is always busy. They need more parking for sure!! The food is wonderful and servings are generous. Try the specials because they are usually unique and delicious. Wait staff is usually harried but do a nice job.

I took my daughter for a birthday breakfast to show her the place we use to crash for breakfast. I wanted to show her a great place to get french toast. I was curious to see if anything had changed. I WAS NOT DISSAPOINTED. The French Toast was still deep fried to golden perfection. Just sweet and rich enough to... More
