Best Middle Eastern in Ann Arbor

We've been to multiple middle eastern restaurants in Ann Arbor so I can firmly say that Jerusalem Garden is the best. The chicken shawarma sandwich and the lamb sandwich are both excellent. Jerusalem Garden is the yardstick to which all other middle eastern restaurants are measured and most simply don't measure up to it. Their food is tastier, yummier, and simply delicious. I have eaten here probably over 100 times and this review is long overdue. Now, they have a new location that is spacious and gorgeous (the old Seva location) and... More

We loved the food at Jerusalem Garden. It is memorably good. We had eaten there when they were in a plainer location. This time, we found them again in a much more upscale space, larger and just beautiful. The service was fairly prompt and the food was just excellent, as we remembered. The falafels are great, as is fattouch. I... More

I was worried about the move, that I would miss the nostalgia of the hole in the wall which was and had been the love of my life for 20+ years, however, the new location is AMAZING, with a similar vibe, more seating, and yes, the SAME DELICIOUS FOOD AS EVER. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Delicious Middle Eastern dishes are prepared fresh daily with love by the owner. The new venue is somewhat stark and institutional, and lacks the exotic, Old World feel of the original restaurant. I hope the owner will make it more welcoming somehow. The food remains the best Middle Eastern in town.

We each found something to like though our tastes vary. Friendly and popular, but quiet enough for nice conversation. In the downtown area.

Food hear is nicely spiced and well=prepared. The falafel balls were moist and fried to perfection. Yogurt and cucumber is fresh, spinach pie delicious and seasoned with mint, baba ganough eggplant has distinct roasted flavor. Service is attentive and rapid.

We have eaten at many middle eastern restaurants. We tend to like the staples, and this restaurant provides excellent fare. The Falafel was better than average, with crispy but not burned tasting outside and an inside that was not too dry. Hummus was well done. The Baba Ghanoush was more garlicky then many we have tried, but we liked it.... More

I've been dining at Jerusalem Garden for over 10 years. They offer well-prepared, excellent Middle Eastern food. I don't know this for a fact, but I'm guessing that most of the dishes are prepared fresh at the restaurant, not shipped in frozen. My favorite selection is the Chicken Shawarma Plate with tabbouli and mjaddara w/ caramelized onions. I usually add... More

This is a simple, pleasant, place to eat for delicious middle-eastern food at very reasonable prices. Not a chain, but a locally owned business that has survived and thrived for many years despite the vicissitudes of the recession, several bouts of major road construction interfering with access, and lots of new competition, because it is so consistently good. If the... More
