My three co-workers and I headed to Metzgers to try some German Food. We decided to split the Sauerbraten and Schnitzel with Jager Sauce. Some also tried the soups and we had the Wurst Platter. We had four sides potato pancakes, spaetzle, fried potatoes, and sauerkraut, plus an extra spaetzle. There was beer also enjoyed for those who wished to... More

After reading all the great reviews for this German restaurant we felt we had found a great place for dinner. Unfortunately, it seems that they must have their employees filling out the Trip Adviser reviews. The food was less than average, the service was slow. The ambience was a strip mall with a lot of steins and clocks but still... More

Metzger's is an Ann Arbor favorite with a wonderful selection of german foods well prepared. They serve a lovely pumpernickel bread before the meal. The beer selections are great and the warm friendly staff will make you feel right at home.

The food was outstanding and the portions were huge. Also had a good beer selection. Service was good and we were there past closing and did not feel rushed to leave.

A timeless tradition in Ann Arbor. The decor makes one feel transported to Germany. Great collection of cuckoo clocks, beer steins, and all kinds of German memorabilia. The service is excellent. No reservations taken, but the place is quite large. The food is outstanding---plenty of traditional dishes, all prepared wonderfully. I had a chicken dish, with potato pancakes and spaetzle.....perfection.... More

Great German food coupled with a tradition German atmosphere and wonderful service! We weren't sure what something was and our waitress was most helpful and explained all to us. Even brought sample of sauce to try to see if we wanted to try the chicken. :-)

We've lived in Germany. We come to Metzger's when we need the fix of authentic German cooking. We love their side dishes like red cabbage, spatzle and cucumber salad. We first tasted rouladen when we lived in Germany. Only served Friday, Saturday and Sunday Metzger's rouladen is tender and very flavorful. It beats most that we tasted in Germany! Good... More

My wife and I've been enjoying Metzger's atmosphere and food since we were students at U of M in the late 1960s. We eat there now about once a year when we are back in the Ann Arbor area. What is for us the "new" location is very convenient to the traveler even if you are staying east on I... More

I've been here a few times, all have been good. When we were searching for a restaurant for graduation weekend, there were only a few that could accommodate our large party and our diverse tastes. Their fish sandwich is one of the best I've had, the Ruben is above most, and there aren't that many places you can get liver... More
