Can't go wrong at Metzgers. Always great food. Authentic german. Generous portions. Warm and friendly service. Good beer selection.

Unfortunately people in Ann Arbor think they're eatin German Bavarian food but they aren't. This is the worst, fake, German food I have ever had. In Germany where Snitzel is a highlight , you can hear the pounding of the fresh meat. Not here! The food tastes processed and nothing better than a chicken sandwich at McDonald's. Don't waste your... More

Had family lunch 12/29/14. Slow service, below average food, small portions, high prices for what you get. One small cabbage roll with cardboard like potato pancakes over $10. Left broke and hungry.

My wife and I met friends here for an early (5 o'clock) dinner on Wednesday evening. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant at this time so seating and service was no problem. I had the stuff cabbage with cold German potato salad. The potato salad was really tasty in the two stuffed cabbage were large. The stuffed cabbage was... More

Most menu items are very tasty. 2 points. They offer senior portions at reduced prices, & on Wednesdays half priced bottle wine (wine selection limited, but ok)

We visit here at least once a year during the fall for a big family dinner, and we are never disappointed. This is the place to go for German food, with great entrees and sides. There is a good draft beer selection for a variety of German beers, and the menu includes German classics as well as other, more standard... More

From out of nowhere came this place. We used to turn off the freeway, drive past the strip-mall entrance, never knowing what we were missing. Then an unknown review. The rest is, as they say, history. It's even more meaningful now as Thanksgiving and Christmas nears, with it's cozy, warm, German and European decor. So inviting and at home. The... More

I've lived in Germany and traveled there extensively. This matches up with anything you'd find there. Good schnitzel and other german sides. They have good beer on tap, and the decor is very German, though not too old fashioned. Though the location is clearly new, being in a strip mall west of Ann Arbor, you can tell the family has... Took my parents here for their anniversary. Everything was great. I've been eating German food since I was a kid ( 50 years old). I've can't think of a negative aspect. Delicious food, great atmosphere, and great bier!

If you like authentic German food, and you're in the Ann Arbor area, you've got to check out Metzger's. They've got all the classic dishes, and they do a great job preparing them. Nice atmosphere, plenty of parking, just not in downtown any more.
