I have been here many times in the past. Metzger's has consistently excellent food and service. I love their pumpernickel bread! I do not, however, recommend their desserts. They have been bad every time I have tried them. This time, my daughter and I got two different kinds of sausage, spaetzel, and delicious vegetables. Other times, we have gotten schnitzel... More

I've been in Germany before, so I know how German food tastes and this was not the real taste from Germany. Service was slow and didn't even offered more water to drink. Dessert was less than something you can find at Walmart. Pricey.

My three co-workers and I headed to Metzgers to try some German Food. We decided to split the Sauerbraten and Schnitzel with Jager Sauce. Some also tried the soups and we had the Wurst Platter. We had four sides potato pancakes, spaetzle, fried potatoes, and sauerkraut, plus an extra spaetzle. There was beer also enjoyed for those who wished to... More

After reading all the great reviews for this German restaurant we felt we had found a great place for dinner. Unfortunately, it seems that they must have their employees filling out the Trip Adviser reviews. The food was less than average, the service was slow. The ambience was a strip mall with a lot of steins and clocks but still... More

Metzger's is an Ann Arbor favorite with a wonderful selection of german foods well prepared. They serve a lovely pumpernickel bread before the meal. The beer selections are great and the warm friendly staff will make you feel right at home.

The food was outstanding and the portions were huge. Also had a good beer selection. Service was good and we were there past closing and did not feel rushed to leave.

A timeless tradition in Ann Arbor. The decor makes one feel transported to Germany. Great collection of cuckoo clocks, beer steins, and all kinds of German memorabilia. The service is excellent. No reservations taken, but the place is quite large. The food is outstanding---plenty of traditional dishes, all prepared wonderfully. I had a chicken dish, with potato pancakes and spaetzle.....perfection.... More
