Took my parents here for their anniversary. Everything was great. I've been eating German food since I was a kid ( 50 years old). I've can't think of a negative aspect. Delicious food, great atmosphere, and great bier!

If you like authentic German food, and you're in the Ann Arbor area, you've got to check out Metzger's. They've got all the classic dishes, and they do a great job preparing them. Nice atmosphere, plenty of parking, just not in downtown any more.

My husband and I live in Ann Arbor, and we eat out on most Saturday evenings. Metzger's is one of my favorites, because its authentic German faire is outstanding in freshness and flavor; I love just about everything on its menu. We've eaten here three in the last 5 weeks, and the food was, as it always has been, consistently... More

There’s good reason they’ve withstood the move (many years ago) from downtown and that young and old flock to this wonderful establishment on Zeeb Road. Parking is plentiful (a plus from when I visited years ago) and the restaurant is spacious and very homey. The wait was 45 minutes. No problem since I was a single diner and there was... More

We don't favor the heavy-on-meat-and-carbs of most German dishes. Metzger's, however, features a varied menu with oodles of choices. Of traditional German offerings, we relish the rouladen--beef rolled and stuffed with onions, bacon, pickles, mustard and spices. Mouth-watering "tournedos" feature tender, juicy chunks of beef. If you're not a beefy person :> there is much more on the menu. We've... More

Stopped in, with friends, on our way to Battle Creek. It was just off the expressway, located in a newer, small strip-type shopping area. Only one in our party of four had ever dined here, but he thought we would all enjoy it. My husband is of German descent, and he loved his mother's & grandmother's German dishes, especially red... We hadn't been to Metzger's in probably 25 years(they were still in downtown Ann Arbor then). We were not disappointed. We shared two different meals that tasted like a home cooked meal-delish! Heard a lot of customers speaking with heavy German accents, usually a good sign that this is authentic. The food came very fast. Slow getting the bill. Food was... More

The atmosphere of the restaurant is reminiscent of a touristy German restaurant. Don't let that dissuade you from eating here. The food is very good and reminded us of the food we'd had in Germany years ago. I had the Wurst Platte which featured three different brats (all very tasty), sauerkraut and schnitzel with gravy. There was so much food... More

The restaurant looked clean. The walls looked freshly painted and were decorated with shelves filled with German-themed memorabilia. The service was fast and friendly. My husband's beef rouladen (served on weekend nights) and my pot roast were delicious. The homemade apple strudel was great.

Not a real German food fan but from start to finish this place is awesome! Cucumber salad was delish as was my meal and the apple strudel do not miss!
