Since finding this place 12 years ago I try to have dinner here when I am in the area. My wife and I stopped in last night after driving back from a day in Grand Rapids. We sat outside on the street in downtown Ann Arbor and ate our dinner with our hands while people passed by on the street... More

I ate a nice dinner here with my daughter. We had a "sampler" of the vegetarian and the meat dishes. The food was tasty and some of the dishes had a nice "zing" to them. The service was very friendly but perhaps a bit slow.

Probably should have asked for a fork. The custom is to eat the food using the Ethiopian bread, but then you fill up on the bread and can get bloated. The price includes unlimited refills and bread. Conveniently located in downtown Ann Arbor.

My son likes to eat at B.N., although they have a cinnamon tea which is so strong it's anesthesia to your tastebuds, and the few lumps of basic, cheap vegetables on the veggie platter are way overpriced. Good mead, though.

The Blue Nile offers a unique dining experience - no utensils, spongy Ethiopian bread, spicy legumes and meat (chicken & beef) .... all you can eat for $18.90 per person. Select wine by the glass for $5.50. This is communal dining at its finest. We were seated and served promptly. The waiter brought hot towels to wash our hands before... More

My family and I love eating at the Blue Nile. The food is simple and so delicious. Simply order the Ethiopian Feast (if you are a meat eater, if not, get the Vegetarian Feast) and a few minutes later this big tray of tastebud delights is in the middle of your table, waiting to be enjoyed! The Ethiopian Feast consists... More

We've been coming here for years and typically have a great experience. However, the last two visits proved that the service isn't what it used to be and the wait to get refills makes the value a bit disappointing. On our last trip over the weekend, we were sat promptly though we're ignored for over 10 minutes. After asking the... More

I went here for dinner when I was in Ann Arbor for a couple of days visiting the University. The food was delicious. I highly recommend you try the Ethiopian Feast. They bring you a big platter of various foods in the middle and then some ethiopian bread to rip and use to scoop up the food. I never knew... More

The food is pretty good - we only took the vegetarian this time which is delicious, especially the mustard greens - and the meat was good before too. I think the veggies are cooked in butter or something like that, very slippery, and later gave heartburn which I have extremely rarely. So my sense is, since you have to eat... More

When friends come to town this is where we go. The vegetarian platter is scrumptious. Make sure to ask for the Ethiopian spice tea either hot or iced.
