This was THE place to dine 30+ years ago, when our parents came into A2 and offered to treat their kids to a nice evening. We were somewhat disappointed on a recent return trip. Food was good but nothing special, service was the same, and it remains expensive for the quality of the evening. Many empty tables on a Friday... More

While I have had meals I would term "average" at the GD in the past, last night was not one of them. For openers the "by the glass" wine selection was slim and no imported Sauvignon Blanc to be had. I opted to have an appetizer and a soup rather than an entree. The Mussels were supposed to be cooked... More

This was the PERFECT dining experience! The atmosphere, the food, and the service! If I remember, our waitress's name was Julia, and she told us all about the history of the restaurant. Yes, it is expensive, so it is not a once a week restaurant. Goooooo!

This is my second time at the Gandy Dancer, having read such good reviews even though the first time wasn't good, I assumed it was because it was so busy since it was graduation weekend. Tonight our family of 6 filled one of perhaps 5 tables in the restaurant that had customers and still all attention to detail was missed.... More

Our 1st experience with Gandy Dancer was a wonderful romantic anniversary dinner for my husband and I. Based on the great service and wonderful food we decided this would be a great place to celebrate our son's college graduation with extended family. We were more than disappointed. We were packed in like sardines in long banquet style table (wobbly and... More

Attended a Sunday-wedding-brunch reception at the Gandy Dancer. Amazing buffet - every bite was perfectly prepared and the array of selections was stunning. Service was excellent. The event was held in the outdoor garden patio area. This is an old train station with atmosphere galore. I peeked into the indoor section of the restaurant and found a jazz ensemble playing... More

I had dinner with a large group while in town for a week long training course. Fourteen of us had dinner upstairs and were treated most wonderfully. The food is a bit pricey but I don’t mind paying those prices when the food and service are this good! The historical atmosphere of the restaurant is a plus.

We were there to celebrate 39th anniversary. My wife liked her lobster, but my salmon was spoiled. It smelled bad from the time it was set in front of me. It did not really seem to be any big deal to the waiter in fact he did not even report it to management. When the manager came by to check... More

Our ladies lunch bunch was ushered to a perfect and preset table with a great view. Even with separate checks our server Jaclyn encouraged us to order a bottle of wine whose price she divided among the drinkers. Some headed for the super lobster bisque; others the "lunch box" (excellent combo options) or a recommended pasta. Only two of us... More

Wonderful restaurant in a stone-built building from early 1900's that continues to be a Train Station!! Ann Arbor, MI.. a must SEE!
