Great for Happy Hour!

I've only eaten in the restaurant side a few times, but the bar to the side is one of my favorite places in town for wine or cocktails. Happy Hour offers cheap yummy mussels, and the small plates are tasty, too.

You know what, I am going to say this restaurant is just ok. They are a bit too snooty for me. Their waitstaff is inconsistent and their food is overrated. Skip it....

We found this gem quite by accident, and were blown away by the service from beginning to end, the incredible wine list (better than most NYC restaurants we've been to), and the understated quality of the food. We will return each year on our trip north.

We visited on a Friday evening and every aspect of our experience was positive- starting with the great decor in this subterranean eatery. Wait staff were welcoming and well versed on both menu items and the wine selections. Each member of our group chose different its from the menu, and all expressed satisfaction with their choices: fish dishes were cooked... More

Atmosphere is wonderful. Intimate setting with live jazz. My husband and I were not at all impressed with the food. Seemed like a pretty cheap meal with poor ingredients.

Had an early dinner in the wine bar area. Service and food were very good. Prices were very reasonable.

It's like going down into a cave...but my husband and I have been going here for over 3o years. Great wine, food and often live jazz, makes for great conversations.

This is our fourth time here. I had sea scallops, veal, duck and this time the salmon rapped in puff pastry with an amazing white sauce. Wow my new favorite. Wine Stewart picked out a nice bottle of wine for us. Do yourself a favor and try the earle.

Reserved the private dining room for a group of 8. The service was fantastic. So nice to have a private area. The food was excellent, fresh, reasonable portions and prices.

We were here for restaurant week and that's always a bit different. So the service was not great, but the restaurant was really packed as well. The sommelier did answer our questions on the more than great wine menu but was very distant and never looking at us. In restaurant week you get 3-course dinners for 28 dollars per person,... More
