In Ann Arbor for a meeting, did a quick search for Mexican restaurants, two came up. Isalita's Cantina Mexicana had a varied menu, frozen margaritas, and a very much Tex-Mex feel. Had dinner on the side walk among all the college students, the inside was packed as well, especially for a Tuesday night. Great, friendly waiters, and fairly quick service.... More

We had dinner for the first time this past Friday for my daughter-in-law's birthday and we will definitely be back! The food was authentic Mexican and delicious! We started with the queso fundido which is served with small flour tortillas, the salsa trio (the salsa verde is some of the best I have had) and the truffle guacamole. For dinner... More

We went just for a light supper, and waited the 30 minute wait time at the bar. Once seated, we ordered chicken and fish tacos, and the plantains. The tacos were outstanding. the plantains were cut too thin and overcooked. Our waitress said the chef likes to make sure they are caramelized; ours were more carbonized. Had we gone for... More

I really enjoy eating and drinking at Isalita. Everything is fresh, including all the ingredients that go into the drinks. I enjoy all of the tacos. Many have little twists on traditional Mexican that makes them so flavorful. They make excellent ceviches, solid guacamole. Although my favorite plate on the menu may be the potato and poblano quesadilla. Don't expect... More

I love this place. I think it is among the best restaurants not only in Ann Arbor, but in the U.S. The food is go fresh and the tastes and flavors are bold. The menu is creative but you can also find the classics which my group appreciated (business dinner). Great drink menu, handcrafted amazing cocktails. Long waits but worth... More

The food was good and the salsa and guac were amazing but seemed a little over priced for waht you got. The server was nice but kind of slow to refill drinks. I would probably not go there for a full meal again but would have drinks and chip/salsa for sure.

There were four of us. Hector was the sever. We ordered drinks and it took a long time to get them. There were other tables that received drinks before us. We ordered our entrees. It took quite awhile before they came out. They were not that terribly busy. One item came out. Almost 15 minutes later the second item came... More

I really like this place, good vibe and very good food. The goat meat taco is fantastic, and I really like the fish tacos. I think the drinks are a little pricey so end up with a Tecate most times. The fare is interesting and I like the way it is served as it is prepared. I like the sharing... More

The accompanying photo with the thumbs up is quite apt. Isalita gets a thumbs up -- a big thumbs up -- from me. There is no better way than to eat tapas than with a small group. My group of four ordered 6 dishes -- and every single one was highly praised by all four of us for creativity, flavor... More
