Everything was great. Which says a lot for a southern place in the north. Tried brisket, sausages, and sides. Nice and tender which some places can mess up. A little pricy but not any more expensive then any other BBQ place.

Stopped by for lunch after reading the reviews. I had the pulled pork sandwich and potatoe salad. The pork was dry, the sauces on the table were cold which made the pork cold. This did not taste like great bbq. Definitely can't compete with Slows bbq or Famous Dave's

Excellent! I like independent BBQ restaurants, especially when there are tank wood smokers under a tree out back or in the parking lot. I had half slab, they do St Louis Ribs. They were moist with a crisp smoked rub. They make their own sauces, and recommended the house special tomato based sauce; it was very good and did not... More

Went for the first time tonight. The man working was an owner or manager and he was awesome. Very friendly and even offered a sample of the stew...which tasted awesome. Food was great and the restaurant was very cute and laid back inside...looked like you were sitting on a front porch...fun design. However I did take away one bubble because... More

Delicious satisfying BBQ. I get the pulled pork, brisket or chicken plate. It's a good amount of food when you add on two sides and cornbread. Family seating. Plan on smelling like smoke when you go back to the office. You'll make everyone hungry. Love the sauces at the table.

I ordered take out of ribs, potato salad, and baked beans. All very good...explosive flavors! I'm so happy to know we finally have good barbecue in Ann Arbor. I don't think I would ever eat there though...it just didn't look very inviting plus no liquor license!

We love BBQ and this is one of our favorite places. The meats are great and the portions are generous. I love the stew and greens, Some of the best greens I've had. There are several sauces to try and they're all good. The vinegar based sauce is great on the greens. You should try it.

I have driven past this spot many times on the way to the Big House and always loved the smells coming off the smoker they keep by the road. Finally stopped and the food is OUTSTANDING! We had brisket, ribs, and pulled pork. It was everything great BBQ should be. The available sauces touch on every region. Side dishes were... More

Although the Satchel's stew is my staple, on this visit I split a full slab of ribs with a friend. We ordered the baked beans, cole slaw, and corn bread for sides. The ribs were lean, moist, and tender (*how* do they do that???), and great with the sweet sauce (my favorite of 5 sauces at your table). Slaw was... More

I have been to Sachels several times. Beef brisket is very good with good flavor. Baked beans were excellent. Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. This visit provided a poor experience. The owner was away and customer service was non existent. Beef brisket had a lot of fat. Asked for honey for my corn bread and got several blank... More
