I get the feeling that Mercy's could coast along for years, simply because it's on the University of Michigan campus, located off the lobby of the Bell Tower Hotel. The room is rather bland, and so is the food. A mixed green salad was okay, but nothing special. The steak frites featured a thin slice of ribeye which was fine,... More

What should have been a nice dining experience was not. It started off with our reservation being lost even though they had called me at home the day before to set it up. It was down hill from there. They need a bartender who can mix and pour drinks in a reasonable amount of time. We waited 10-15 minutes each... More

Our first visit to Mercy's was on a whim during restaurant week and we were blown away by, of all things, the blue cheese salad dressing. The salad is no longer on the menu, but it hooked us enough to get us back several times over the last year or two and we've had good experiences each time. Pretty sure... More

We have been here about four times over the past couple of years, and we have never been disappointed. Our first visit was during a winter restaurant week--we had a great meal but the simple green salad that came with it (greens, blue cheese, maybe walnuts) had this vinaigrette we still rave about. Usually green salads aren't rave-worthy, but this... More

A unique cuisine with a limited menu. All dishes are carefully prepared and presented. We liked the Lighter Fare option, a size between starter and entree. Each visit presents new food options. All have been excellent. While we were sorry the poached pear desert was gone, we were very pleased to discover the Pineapple Ravioli desert that has taken its... More

I heard from a friend that this place was recently either revamped or replaced a not-so-good restaurant so I would ignore any bad ratings that are old from this place. I was attending the Society for Acupuncture Research symposium at the U of M last month and got to stay at the Bell Tower. (That's the hotel that Mercy's is... More

I dined at Mercy's on a Friday evening: bad idea as there was an event next door at Hill Auditorium that evening and restaurant staff was in a tizzy to get diners in and out before 8. I was dining with friends with reservatons at 7 and were seated immediately (good) and we were not going to the Hill Auditorium... More

but delicious. My husband and I were too tired and did not wish to drive through the snow (beautiful!) right away, so we ate at Mercy's in the Bell Tower Hotel. Sweet potato fries, dumplings, and one fabulous half roast chicken later, we were quite content and ready for bed. Really, the chicken was utterly divine.

We had dinner at Mercy's recently and the food was very good. The porkchop I had was done perfectly, very most and flavorful. The only problem was that the trio playing was loud enough so that most people seemed to feel they needed to speak up to be heard. The overall effect was very noisy. Service was very good. The... We went to Mercy just before the Ann Arbor Folk Festival on Saturday night. It was busy but early (5:30). Though nice, The waiters seemed new and inexperienced. The food was not good and cold (soup and potstickers). There were four of us and ordered off of the fixed price menu. We had a variety of appetizers and entrees and... More
